Hi guys. Is it possible to get "Options Express" added as a supported broker. They are one of the most popular brokers in Australia for overseas share trading. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

We can certainly look at adding support for Options Express contract notes. In order to create a processing template we need to get hold of some sample contract notes.

Do you have any existing contract notes that you would mind sharing for development purposes? If so please email them to me directly (scott@sharesight.com)

Thanks.

Hi guys - was this ever resolved? I am in a similar situation, all of my US trades go through OptionsXpress.

Hi Stuart, yes it certainly was...
If you remember to spell OptionsXpress correctly in the subject line it will work perfectly. I spelt it OptionsExpress the first time I used it. Silly Me...
Just use your sharesight email address, attached your PDF contract note and add OptionsXpress in the subject line of the email. Great feature and certainly saves on the typing.

Hmm - strange. I just tried this and still get an email back saying unsupported broker. I checked the list of supported brokers and OptionsXpress are not listed.

Your right Stuart. Its not working now. I just tried to send one myself. The last trade i added using email was on the 27th of August and it worked fine. Maybe email Scott and get him to look into the problem.

Hi Stuart,

Sorry about the problem, we'll take a look into this and I'll get back to you soon.

We haven't had a lot of OptionsXpress contract notes come through and often there's a bit of fine tuning required for the first few.

Hi Stuart,

The subject line match for these contract notes was actually set as "Options Xpress" but we have updated this to also match "OptionsXpress" (without the space) and all upper and lower case variations. This should resolve the unknown broker error that you received.

I also noticed that contract note that you sent through earlier was missing the symbol (in the 'symbol' column on the contract note). As the symbol is a required field, we can only process contract notes that contain this information.

New to Sharesight - tried forwarding and OptionsXpress email but it fails as follows:
I changed the title of the email as OptionsXpress

Failure reason: No PDF Attachment Error
Message: Email received with missing PDF attachment

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your post. The message you received makes me suspect you might have forgotten to attach the pdf document to the email you forwarded to your Sharesight portfolio.

Could you try again and with the PDF document? Please forward the PDF to support@sharesight.co.nz should it not work with the PDF attached either.

Cheers,

Emma

Hi Emma,

Thanks for the reply, the default notification from OptionsXpress is just an email without the PDF. I managed to re-extract a PDF and it was successfully imported.

Tks, Mark
