This was in 2nd place for dogs tonight (deadline was 7pm) and then your company changed the category. If you are going to change every shot that is in the subject category due to it being black and white you have just made a HUGE job for yourself. I demand every single photo this year that is black and white but under the subject be removed. There are only a million for you to move. Lets start with "People". This is JUST YESTERDAY's photos and you can see the amount of work you have in front of you! Please remove every single black and white photo.

Please put my photo back under its subject instead of black and white and I would appreciate my 2nd place badge as well.

Its the pick and choose which photos to move that upsets me. Remove mine but leave 100s more black and whites?

I wish that was the case. This happens to me all the time. Jasenka is great! She will once again give me credits for the mess up but once again I lose the 2nd place ranking =(

Hi Brook, it happened to me in the beginning as well. I don't think the problem is it being a black and white image of a dog in the dog category. It's because it's a black and white version of a photo which you already had used in that category. I had a look at your profile and found: http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra...

Basically according to the rules your black and white version will be regarded as a duplicate. The only way to avoid this is to enter the same image, though black and white version, into the black and white category.

Here are the rules according to their category description:

Black & White – Here’s a place for just black & white photos of any sort (slight color tints are OK too). Note that you can include a Black& White version of a color photo from another category here without violating the “very similar image” rule. A black and white work toned entirely in a single color belong in black and white category, however a black and white work modified by a partial toning or by the addition of one color becomes a color work and can not be placed in black and white category. Nudity and Digital art images are NOT allowed in Black and White category.

Hello Brook, as John already explained, if you already have colored version of image in Animal Dogs category, you can't publish same black and white image in Animal Dogs category - it needs to be submitted to Black and white category - and because of that images was correctly recategorized.

If you only have one version of image and it is black and white you can chose if you want to submit it in Black and White category or any other category (of course which one will be determined by subject of the photo) - as long as you already don't have colored version of same image in that category.

I hope this helps.
