Would you please define what mobile photography is all about and what is allowed and not allowed? I am getting confused. Recently two of my images where re categorized into the Photoshop Category. I was fine withat, since I used an app to create a waterdrop and reflect part of the image BUT, what about all the other photos in this vategory that used apps to chenga almost every bit of reality of the image? Color, making it look old, scratches, even lightening bolts, Fake suns and reflections? I can give you a ton of examples, including some of mine ... but then I want them all removed, not only mine!

Hey Diana,

The primary rule around the mobile category is that the image should have been shot using a mobile phone. We often receive complaints about photos in the mobile category having been shot with a DSLR or another camera that is obviously not a phone.

Was there a reason given as to why your images were moved?

The primary reason any image would be moved to Photoshop Art is if the image is made up of a composite of multiple different images. That is only allowed in Photoshop Art currently.

Aaaargh! This are things that really frustrtae me: the photo we were talking about was NOT REMOVED and got 2nd place 670 points .... Justin, please, some time ago you said that you were "cleaning" submissions from the 10 first places before giving out points ... as you see ... not true! And now? Points were given out wrongly and other people got less points because of this cheat.

And justin, this is causing confusion:

Read the discussion here at this image: http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra...

Since my image was resubmitted by pixoto into Photoshop http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra... ... and this was only a distortion too, there was no second image in here ... so what now, please, I would like to have a clear answer on this .... please.

Yes, this image http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra... was replaced to photoshop although I just used a filter to create a waterdrop reflection on it, no second image involved, just an app doing this

I would like to say as well, that I am fine with the decision but it disturbs me and I don't find it correct if thunderbolts and scratches and fake suns are accepted then ...

I think they have to ask the photographer first before they move the image to another category. images that uses phone apps has been fine since mobile photo category began. the only issue with mobile photo category is some people submit their DSLR or other than mobile phone cameras to this category. some of them delete the exif info hide the real source of the image.

Iphone 4 by the looks of it, some Iphones can take stunning pictures,

frustrates me that instagram filter out the exif data though, thats where a lot of unscrupulous people get away with submitting DSLR images to the mobile category

Diana. I just have to say you are truly a master of the Iphone photo art. Your composition and exposures and subject matter are beautiful. Better than many DSLR photos I have seen. Keep on shooting.

I can see as well, Iphone4 takes nice pics, almost like a DSLR. Some look like photoshopped as well and Jay is right, they should ask the tog before moving them to photoshop
