Hello Jay, Image score is generated from our proprietary algorithms and is meant to summarize how well the image has done against other images in its category and subcategory. While in the beginning, when image is submitted, it will gain score even when it loses duel, later when duel is lost image can also lose Image Score.

I hope this helps.

It has never made any sense to anyone except Jason. Half of the submitted images get frozen out of the day's duels completely unless of course you pay for Pro, totally unfair and ridiculous.

Jasenka, respectfully, it makes absolutely no sense. I am playing this game for a year; we will see what happens. Why everyone associated with this software has to use the expression "proprietary" algorithms instead of simply saying that is the way it works because that is the way it works is simply a way of excusing something that makes no sense.

Any system where you win points for losing simply doesn't care that it is seen as a joke by most of the players.
