Can someone explain to me why some photos are shown more times than others? Some of my photos are shown 20 times, while others more, and some even less. How does this work?

A lot of questions can be answered by looking at the sections under the "About" tab at the top right side of homepage. I copied the part "Why is my image paused". It explains why some images get more duels than others. Pro members are guaranteed at least 100 duels per image. If you do not have a pro membership, you likely will need to "boost" your image (using credits to get more duels), to find out where it will end up. Sometimes images do very poorly in the beginning (depending on who is voting) and get paused. If you boost them, they may take off and end up high enough that the pause will go away and they may get more duels even without a boost.

Here is what Pixoto's About Page says:
Why is my image "Paused"?

Images get paused if they are statistically unlikely to move up to the top 10% of all images (approximately 615 ImageScore). Sometimes we determine this within this within 6 duels sometimes it takes 100. The key is that in order to provide good clarity into which images are in the top 10 we must vote the best images a lot. With a limited amount of duels available to us the best way to accomplish this is by pausing images once we've determined that they are not likely to get near the top. We use statistics so by definition we are not 100% confident that the image should be paused and so to address this issue we added the "get more votes" feature (the "play" button on the leaderboards). Under certain circumstances Paused images may still be placed in to duels and may be unpaused automatically.

Again, that doesn't make sense from what I see. Several of my photos have more wins than losses, yet you've stopped dueling them. So, your answer doesn't hold. What you're saying is you do what you want with the photos and it's all subjective. So, there's no rhyme or reason to who goes forward and who doesn't; it's all about whether you want them to, or not.

Ilanna, win/loss ratio is not good to determine imagescore, you can see why here: http://blog.pixoto.com/2012/09/why-wi...

I hope this helps.

You haven't answered why you stop dueling some images after only 10 or 15 duels and the image is ahead
