Why are images paused if they are doing so good? Of the 4 images I've entered on Wednesday, two were doing so well and I've was very strongly on my way for 2 awards for the day. Then 8 hours later my images are paused!! That is really very unfair!!!!

Hello Melody, you can check how Pixoto works here: https://www.pixoto.com/about

Please check specifically this part:

"Why is my image "Paused"?

Images get paused if they are statistically unlikely to move up to the top 10% of all images (approximately 615 ImageScore). Sometimes we determine this within this within 6 duels sometimes it takes 100. The key is that in order to provide good clarity into which images are in the top 10 we must vote the best images a lot. With a limited amount of duels available to us, the best way to accomplish this is by pausing images once we've determined that they are not likely to get near the top. We use statistics so by definition we are not 100% confident that the image should be paused and so to address this issue we added the "get more votes" feature (the "play" button on the leaderboards). Under certain circumstances Paused images may still be placed into duels and may be unpaused automatically."

I hope this helps.

Melody,
Sometimes images start off very strong. I've had images that were 12 and 3 suddenly hit a brick wall and get paused at 14 and 18. As the time of day changes, so do the voters. Different voters sometimes have different tastes in photography. Also, as your image wins duels, the system puts your image in duels against better and better photographs. So it may win lots of duels against images with scores in the 400 and 500 range, but cannot win duels against images in the upper 500s and 600s. That is what happened to mine, and probably happened to yours. Sometimes they do better when you resubmit them, but not always.

I agree with SweetNana55, however I wonder if she (this is an assumption on my part) is a pro member as I am and having a guarantee of 100 duels for each image means they do not suffer being paused after 6 duels which lays credence to her point of view.

Melody, it does make the experience of Pixoto a lot better if you are pro member but there will be occasions when you think an image should have achieved a better score and equally you will be surprised at the score another image does achieve,

Keep posting.
