Why is this actively in the duels?

Why is Nature Up Close>Flowers>2011-2013 actively dueling the current uploads in Nature Up Close? OF COURSE pretty flower photos are going to win those duels! It's not fair. If that subcategory is going to be active in duels, it should be moved to FLOWERS, not stay in NATURE UP CLOSE.

Jasenka, please check into this. It isn't right.

Here's the screenshot I captured, just now, of the photo in question.

I also just noticed this image in a duel with one of my Nature Up Close images (mine won this time but I still don't think it's right): http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra...

Hi Lenore. This problem exists for quite some months now unfortunately. See also http://community.pixoto.com/pixoto/to...
I'm really looking forward to the solution Pixoto announced of moving the old flower category.

Ad,thanks for that link. This really makes the whole idea of voting fairness laughable, unfortunately. Pixoto management have deliberately created a situation that violates current category rules. That sub-category should not be competing until it's moved to Flowers. Plain and simple.

Last night I moved all my Nature Up Close future uploads out of my Pixoto folder on my computer and into another one. I won't be competing in that category until this is all fixed.

I can understand your decision. Hopefully Jason and his team will bring the
solution fast.

I also noticed the flower subcategory under nature close up. It seems rather redundant since flowers has its own category.

Brook, flowers just used to be a subcategory under Nature Up Close. It was only last year that it became a separate category.

Hi Lenore, if image is not paused it can participate in duels.

We are working on moving old flower subcategory from Nature up close, but I don't know when will that be done.

Hi Jasenka, this is going on for some time now. Also the intention of Pixoto team to move old flower category exists some time now. Some planning must be known by now I suppose?

Jasenka, thanks for the info. I honestly thought that Pixoto had specifically caused that old sub-category to not actively participate in the duels.

It just doesn't seem right or fair that recent uploads should be allowed to duel against photos that under current rules are not supposed to be in that category.

This is different than photos coming up that should have been reported but weren't and now it's too late. This is an entire sub-category that shouldn't be in the voting pool until it's moved to Flowers.

And please let Jason know that this policy is also deliberately wasting the time of the Pixoto members who take the time to vote with some thought. This is what happens: a Nature Up Close duel comes up with a flower on the left and a tree on the right. The member who is voting as they think they should then takes the time to click the Report button on the flower, reports it as being in the wrong category, then clicks the Skip button. Who wins in this situation? Nobody. The member voting is wasting their time reporting the flower photo because it's a photo that can't be reported, but you don't know that during the duels because the report box comes up automatically, and the person who uploaded the tree has their photo participate in a duel that should not have even happened.

And for those who don't vote with some thought.....well, they're voting for the flower even though it's a Nature Up Close duel.

When members report an image in a duel as being in the wrong category, are we then supposed to automatically vote for the other image that is in the right category? Because if we are, then that's what I'll do :-)
