I just got one of those Whoa there our voters don't agree.........

The pic on the left had a date stamp which I reported and went to skip the duel as the pic on the right couldn't get my vote (great pic) because it didn't beat the one on the left and I get a "Whoa there". You shouldn't get a warning if you skip a duel that becomes invalid when one of the pics has been reported.

Was the one with the datestamp a sunflower? (I just started a new topic about this very same thing, getting the Whoa when one image has a watermark/datestamp.) I posted a screenshot so you can have a look to see if perhaps it was the same........

Yep, same flower, same date stamp.

I actually thought it was the right thing to do was to skip. After all the other pic, no matter how good hasn't beaten another pic as the duel becomes invalid when you report the other.

I will do some more dueling but if it happens again I will also stop voting.

I actually got a different: 'Whoa There! Our voters definately don't agree with you' when i voted for an image I chose as better

It's my choice - the running commentary was amusing this time but it's going to wear thin pretty quickly

What is with the "whoa there" thing anyway?? What a crock! IF we are to vote on what our own 'gut' tells us, or our own feelings--why on earth should we get a "whoa there" meesage?? That's ridiculous!!

I have just got another Whoa there

I chose the one on the righht. The one on the left was a long exposure (overly done IMHO) the one on the right was nothing special but was the one I prefered. There has to be something wrong with the system.

Just had another whoa there when I went to skip a duel (I know who submitted one of the pics) wouldn't let me save the duel and locked my computer till I pressed OK.

That's it, I'm done voting until this is cleared up.

I believe Pixoto was trying to respond to complaints about people voting down better shots on purpose, either to try to help boost their own leaderboard position or out of some dislike or jealousy for a tog whose images they recognize. They insert duels that, in their opinion, clearly feel has only one outcome. If you have voted for the image they feel is not close to the quality of the other image, then you get "whoa'd."

I respect that they have attempted to stop the "down voters" or the hateful and jealous voters, but by the reaction to so many who have complained and posted about this voting maneuver, it seems that the differences in the quality of the dueling photos are totally inadequate. If Pixoto is going to continue this practice there needs to be a very clear difference in quality so that the obvious outcome of the duel is clear to not only Pixoto, but to the togs who vote in the duels.

In the example given above by Mark, the shot on the left looks like an hdr and over-processed, as are most hdr's. The image on the right is a little boring, but far more realistic in color and has better composition.

My suggestion is that Pixoto staff, who arrange these duels, rethink this "entrapment" type voting measure and, if they are going to continue with this maneuver, to come up with something much more obvious in nature besides having one shot colorful and overprocessed and the other darker and more subdued.

Think will stop voting as well until Pixoto clears this up. Do not want to be suspended just because I did not vote on the "RIGHT" image...

Thank you all for your thoughts. Based on your feedback we have decided to do away with the warning message and make sure the choice between false pair images is much more clear.

We will have this fix in place in the next 24 hours. In the meantime if your voting gets suspended please post a link to your profile here and we will reinstate your voting privileges.
