I have been attempting to upload a large jpeg file that is 6332x5628 pixels. The upload seems to go OK but my image is never displayed. A message showing a pinion and gear is displayed that says "Processing your beautiful image Please hold on..." I let it run all day today and still no upload of this image. The jpeg is 63 MB. Is there a limit as to how large a file can be uploaded?

Brent - it looks like you may have found a limit we were not aware of. We'll have to do some testing here to find out if we're having problems uploading very large files.

What is the ideal file size that you would like to see? I have set my Pixoto folder in Lightroom to reduce file size to 5 MB. Is this not a good idea?

If we are to have images ready for stock then we should be able to upload a full resolution image.

For stock images we recommend uploading the original file sized (with any post processing you have done). This will make your image salable for more uses.

Look at submit page:

http://www.pixoto.com/images/submit

It says:

Contest Rules:

1. No Watermarks
2. No Very Similar Images
3. Your Own Content

Fine Print: respect category definitions and market photo guidelines, jpegs only, min 900px, max 50MP or 32MB. See all rules.

Your image is (as you state) 64MB which is double more than maximum of 32MB.

Good answer Nikola and right now we are having problems with our image hosting service so we are recommending images be 20MB in size.
