I hear you! I am just beginning and competing in the novice category. More important to me than winning is to look at the top pictures admire them and see what they are doing, their technique, exposure, subject, equipment, angle etc. One particular player displays the same scene but photoshops the color to change it. Not a technique I am interested in learning. Rule states similar objects are not allowed in order to "keep the site interesting." Pretty boring to see the same object photoshopped ten different ways. Having said that I do love looking at the professional pics. There are some stunning pics on those pages. Absolutely incredible. Maybe someday....

Sandy, I have no problem with photos that are taken during the same session as long as they are significantly different.. and I do mean different not just cropped differently or flipped.. using the same model or object is ok with me as long as intent and structure of the photo changes. I am not a pro, I just enjoy my camera and taking photos and know what I enjoy viewing. I think opening up for stock, we are all going to see subtle changes taking place in the content of photos that are posted on here.. in some ways stock photo if you participate will change the type of photos you will want to submit for you will constantly have in mind, posting photos that you think other people would want to buy..changes are a coming !
