Voting for the wrong image

Should the 25 people so far who voted for this image in Nature close up have their voting rights paused. They either do not know what category they are voting in, or they are voting randomly to get credits.

I think the tog has made a genuine mistake because they have lots of very nice images correctly categorized.

My original question is aimed at the users that vote.

Sherry....how many of these voters have zero images in their profile. I think you have guessed by now that i'm not happy with the large amount of users that have zero images following and are being followed by other people that also zero images.

judging by his tags it certainly appears he meant to post birds......

You do have to wonder why people join and don't post, is it to vote for friends?

I think this is a problem, however Pixoto do not. There are many people on Pixoto with no images and i can understand that people want to browse and vote for images without the need to submit images. However i cannot understand why large amount of people (and i am talking in the hundreds) that have zero images are following and are being followed by other people that also have zero images .I can understand following a photographer with a number of images and that photographer follows you back in kind. But why would people be following each other, none of these people have favorites either.

I bought this up on another thread.

http://community.pixoto.com/pixoto/to...

I randomly picked out one person that had 0 images and was following 58 people. Of those people he was following around 50% also had no images.

Hi Everyone, the image has been moved to the proper location and all of the bird related tags removed,

The problem with the votes though is that people do not pay attention to the category when they vote, they just vote for the best image on the screen with out taking the category into consideration. They should be using the Report function and report the images that do not fit into the category.

Bill I know you are concerned about those who are registered but do not have photos on the site. Several of my friends on Facebook, after seeing the awards notices have come to check out the site, liked it and registered so they could vote, They are not photographers, they are not there to vote for my stuff they just want to look at pictures and choose there favorites. There really is nothing wrong with this, it seems to me they would vote more fairly not having a stake in the contest.

I understand and agree with what you are saying, that is what i said in my post.

"There are many people on Pixoto with no images and i can understand that people want to browse and vote for images without the need to submit images". One of the main drawbacks in allowing people with no images to vote is that they do not have any understanding of the category rules. Perhaps voting needs to be restricted until you have posted say 5-10 images.

Now to my second point, i cannot understand why large numbers of people (and i am talking in the hundreds) that have zero images are following and are being followed by other people that also have zero images, it does not make sense to me.

I think Bill is right here, its easy to join to vote for friends only and in some cases that may be what's happening, and that is a cause for concern.
I think if you have no images posted you are not allowed to vote, therefore they can look but not touch kind of thing. And perhaps a minimum of 5 images are needed before you can vote.

I agree with Terry. Agree with Bill too. It doesnt make sense following a person with zero picture. What is he/she following for?

Let me give you a hint ... You have a bug on Pixoto ... individual can be logged in with different accounts on the same computer at the same time (just use different browser) ;)
