I am hoping I misunderstood the terms and conditions. When one posts a photo, can anyone use the photo for their own purposes? Can Pixoto or anyone else, take the photo and use it for whatever purpose they desire and can they make a profit off of it? I suspect I misunderstood but I want to be certain about this before posting. Thank you.

Viana,

Here are the answers to your questions:
When one posts a photo, can anyone use the photo for their own purposes? - absolutely not. we do offer the ability for people to license images posted to Pixoto but this requires 1) consent on an image-by-image basis from the photographer and 2) payment to Pixoto (which is shared with the image owner)

Can Pixoto or anyone else, take the photo and use it for whatever purpose they desire and can they make a profit off of it? We/Pixoto are allowed to use the images as needed on our site to provide you with the services we offer. We can make a profit off the image if you allow it to be sold in our marketplace. Other people have no rights to the images unless they are paid for.

I hope this helps.
