Well I give up, every entry in this competition has been disqualified. How do you disqualify a photo because the sun cannot be seen in the photo when the sun is so bright and golden it is almost blinding???? Sometimes the whole idea of the photo is so obtuse ...why is it even a competition. Very upset!

Some of the so-called competition organisers need a kick up the arse.
Its a common problem and even with pixoto organised challenges some very dubious decisions are made and the so called 'staff' refuse to do anything about it.

Hello Dawn, I'm sorry but we don't interfere with the moderation of community contests. If you are not satisfied with how the community contest is moderated you can always state your opinion on feedback e-mail that is sent after contests winners are announced.

The standard get-out reply ' nothing to do with us (but we'll still deduct all your credits anyway) and we don't really care.

Even when it is a pixoto organized contest there is no explanation. I've still had no viable reason why one of my photos was disqualified from the 'Mom and Me' contest other than 'it seems to be candid'  - which is wasn't - yet there are many obvious candid, some of which even identify themselves as candids, and these have been allowed.

Thanks Brian, I get so annoyed with some of the disqualifications and if it continues with 'grey' areas not being sotred out they may find a lot of photographers dropping out just through sheer frustration!

I quite agree. I once took part in a contest where EVERY image was disqualified and pixoto didn't want to know.

I've also had issues where despite being placed in some contests the promised credits etc were not allocated.

They made a statement a little while ago that they were committed to improving customer service and satisfaction but empty promises are easy to make.

I guess its easier for them to provide appalling customer service, tolerate people leaving and rely on new people signing up than it is to foster a loyal customer base.

Hi Dawn,

I feel your frustration.  Looking into it a bit, I've noticed it is just one or two "contest organizers" who need you to have a lawyer go through all the fine print...then at the end they say "have fun!".  Well, I can't have fun if I need to go through a very specific, yet often random, set of criterion to enter!

So my strategy is to either avoid them, or if I have time, enter a photo that fits their rules, then have my say when I get the "Challenge Feedback" email.  I think this is the only way to effectively weed out those who spoil the contests.

You'll also notice the contest organizer in question has a low rating, this is not a surprise!
