Folks, I think in all the rules there should be a resounding explanation of landscape vs waterscape photo. It seems every other landscape photo is a waterscape, pond, lake, ocean, falls etc. When voting, it gets frustrating. Yes, I turn all of them in. Jokingly, I say, I sure have seen my fill of mushrooms, eagles, hummingbirds. The only thing I'd find here are the mushrooms growing in my lawn! I must say, some of that photography is out of this world. I just have my small simple camera. No, big zoom etc. It does me well though.
Have a great Veteran's day and weekend, people. Thank you for your service. (husband a Vietnam vet pilot)

Hello Carol, waterscapes are part of Landscape category (waterscape is subcategory under Landscape category), so all images in Landscape category (including waterscapes) can duel each other.

You can see category description page (as well as what falls under what category) here: http://blog.pixoto.com/category-descr...

I hope this helps.

Not really. Because I've had mine changed one time. If it is mainly water and listed as landscape, then shouldn't it be waterscape? I'm confused. So land vs water is okay? I've seen two waterscapes listed as landscapes against one another. I skip it.
Is it okay to list as an animal if it's an insect?

Carol, can you please post link to your image that was changed?

Waterscape is subcategory of Landscape, meaning waterscape images belong in Landscape category.

Of course insect is ok to be listed as animal, insect is an animal, so it should be listed in Animal category.

I believe it was eventually changed to a good category because it is a park (parks)- with a big pond. I do not vote at all when it's a lake, the sea or waterfalls called landscape. yes, I am very picky. I truly look at categories and keep them .at their word. But, that's just me. Does a photo stop pausing once it reaches a certain score?Once I learn the ropes, things will get better.

Carol, photo will not get paused if it is statistically likely to move up to the top 10% of all images (as explained in link About us - http://www.pixoto.com/about where you can see more about pausing, un-pausing and other details about how Pixoto works).

I hope this helps.
