IF YOU READ THIS POST, PLEASE ADD A COMMENT. Maybe we will get the attention of the site administrators if tons of users speak up.

Jasenka, I think you have reported all of these issues, but I thought it might be good to put them all in one place. If anyone is aware of others that I missed, please add a comment.

1. Though these have improved greatly in recent weeks, I still get crashes due to server errors almost daily.
2. The Blog site with category descriptions has been red flagged by Google due to errors that could allow hackers to harm your computer if you visit it.
3. Several categories of 2017 awards have not been given.
4. The 2017 banner awards also have not been given. Of course, that can't happen till all the category awards are given.
5. The best of month awards for February have not been given, and March will be over in a few days.
6. Awards have not been showing up in the news feed for the past few days.
7. Emails are not being sent to users to let them know they won an award.
8. Images show points awarded for recent daily and weekly awards, but the points are not being added in to the users total.
9. When you win an award, the counter is not updating to reflect your new total number of awards.
10. Pro members reported more than two weeks ago that links to their pro account are not functioning.

While I am glad that the crashes have greatly improved, there are nine other major issues that have not been addressed. I know that all you can do is report them, but maybe it is time for Jason, Justin and Scott to become more involved in this site. It doesn't even seem to be in Maintenance Mode anymore.

Yes, i also received multiple notifications, which were mostly duplicates of the other emails, advising of Awards for March, Animals - Dogs for 2017 and for April, daily and weekly, as well as three challenges I entered. Regards Claudia

I can't log in. I have already reported the issue. I can get to the main page, my photo is showing and if I bring down the menu there is an option to log off implying I am logged in. However whenever I try to do something that requires I be logged in I can't enter in a password and be recognized. I have cleared my cache numerous times and have reset my password I believe 4 times.

We are beyond being patient. I have had issues since the beginning of January. I can't get to Instagram. For those of us paying there should be a refund, because we are not getting the product that was advertised. I am now in my fourth month of you asking me to patient.

I have lost points twice for no reason, are being, contest award points are not being given. You are losing customers who are angry at having photos misclassified and yet when we report photos which are being dualed over and over again, because the photographer is top scoring they are held to different rules than the rest of us.

Our patience is gone! Fix the damn problems now and hold all photographers to the same rules or tell all of we can submit duplicate images. If the rules are not going to be enforced, then change the rules, but make it fair for everyone.

Hi Norma,

Sorry for making you angry.  I put in a solid 13 hours trying to get everything working again, but unfortunately I broke Log in for a few hours.  I appreciate your feedback and even more so your patience.   Things should be working better now.  My short term goal is get everything working as quickly as possible and then dive into some of the broader issues.  Your opinion really does matter to me and I hope you give me a chance to address all your concerns.

I emailed you directly some time ago and never got a response. As far as the 13 hours? We all put in long hours editing our photographs and when we are beaten by a duplicate image or one in the wrong category, we report the problem and nothing is done, we have a right to get angry. Either there are rules or there is not. Either they are enforced equally or they are not. If the rules are applied to me the same as Chanet, that is fair, but what I am seeing is unequal application of the rules as do many of us. That is the reason you are losing customers. Amazing you have not figured that out. You need to ban those who repeatedly are breaking the rules. Chanet knows the rules and chooses to break them. There seem to a few in every category who are the offenders.

Scott I reported the issue and rather than answering my questions directly Janeska danced around the issue. At no time did she report you were installing the new system now or that others were having problems with logging in. Perhaps you should have taken the system down for a few days and reported to users a new system was being installed now, that issues probably would happen during this time frame and given users a working email to report issues after a certain date. She made it sound I was the only one having issues. And the only response from her on the new system being installed was it was coming soon. What does soon mean? She has been telling me since January my issues with Instagram were being addressed and they would be fixed "soon. " So soon has no meaning to me.

The amount of time I put in was in no way stated to demean the time other people have put into their photos. I was only stating that I am currently taking serious action to address your needs as quickly as possible.

Duplicate images should have no effect on points? Really? When my images get a lower score because of duplicates that doesn't points? Really? Did you really say that?

You should know the issue with Instagram. Janeska has repeatedly told me she reported the issue since the beginning of January. Cannot get into my account through your system, which means I cannot transmit my images from Pixoto to Instagram.

Instagram doesn't allow publishing photos to their system via a 3rd party source.  This has never been a feature on Pixoto.  The instagram functionality only allows you to automatically have your instagram images post to Pixoto if you tag them with pixoto when using the instagram app.

The instagram functionality has not been working for some time and she probably was unaware how it actually worked.  We haven't had a lot of requests for it so it has been left alone for all this time.  Since you are showing interest in it, I went ahead and took steps to get it re-enabled.

I never said that.  It's hard for me to comment on a conversation I can not see.  Perhaps you can provide me a link? Janeska has not lied to you about anything. There were other engineers working on the site at that time.  However, a user reached out to me and I saw things were not progressing fast enough, so I stepped in.

I still cannot get into Instagram through your system. I am getting the following when trying to log in using your system. {"error_type": "OAuthForbiddenException", "code": 403, "error_message": "You are not a sandbox user of this client"}

Hi Norma, it looks like instagram had updated their API and we need to re-enable permissions on our end.  I just put in a request with instagram and it is currently pending.

I had a pro account for years (also very active and devoted) and I sadly cancelled it this year, because I didn't want to pay for something broken. I am very encouraged by Scott's effort, responses and presence here in the community site. He is the first one to give us real answers and information, and I also appreciate that! To me, it's too soon for me to trust that Pixoto will take care of its customers but I am watching to see how it goes. If I do rejoin - it is really only because of Scott so thanks to Scott. And to you, for reaching out to him!

(on a side note, I wonder if I am the only one scratching my head wondering why he wasn't contacted before by Pixoto staff when things were so obviously spiraling the drain -- why did a user have to be the one to reach out to him? why weren't Pixoto owners watching the site at all...these are things that make me skeptical about rejoining but I will if things continue to go as well as they have been recently)

Scott, we are really happy you are getting involved, but it begs the issue why others were not dealing with all these issues all along. In the end if this site is not fair, in the long run we are lose. The only ones who don't lose are those getting paid for being dishonest.

Norma, sometimes you hire qualified people to take over and they do a good job, until they don't. I suspect that happened here. Scott hasn't been active until recently because he was not supposed to have to be doing this work anymore. Once he became aware of all of these issues, he jumped right in and started fixing everything in a very timely manner. A little over two weeks ago there were 13 major issues. Almost all of them have been resolved now. Should he have been informed of all of these issues sooner? Of course. I suspect that corrective measures are now in place to be sure that things don't deteriorate like this again. I don't think there was ever any dishonesty. I think there was a lack of oversight. I bet that is a thing of the past.

I have opted to hold off on the remaining 2017 awards for at least a week, but no more than 1 month. I would like time for the system to stabilized. I am still investigating the February awards and waiting on a colleague for a response.  Please be patient, the system will be corrected.

I was a Pro member for many years and loved this site, it was the main photography site i went on.. after months and months of problems, i cancel my pro account as i felt i wasn't getting my money worth, and nothing was being done to fix things or compensate the loyal members,. I stopped recommending people to the website and over the years that had been many photographers both pro and hobbist.. If the problems get fixed and a good compensation is given - say x amount of months free pro scriptions ( for the Loyal members ) then yes i would come back in a flash.

Why are photographers not being banned who on a regular basis day after day submitting similar or exact duplicate images? I am very frustrated this continuing issue is not being fixed. There seem to be a few photographers in many categories who are the worst offenders. Almost all are men who think the rules don't apply to them and Pixoto is condoning the practice. If you have a rule in place it should be equally applied to everyone. I can give you examples if you wish.

If the exif data shows that the image is different, and the pose is a little different, they will usually allow the image. If you have specific examples, you may report them. Click on one of the images, use the report button. Be sure to copy and paste the image address of the duplicate or similar image in the comment box. Pixoto only reviews images that are reported to them. They do not have staff that routinely reviews all of the images submitted. With millions of entries and thousands of contributors, that would be almost impossible.

Most of these guys have removed the data. I have already reported the images and they are not being removed. I want Scott to deal with this.

Here is a good example. This guy is a big offender, over and over again. Why is he still allowed on this competition? He is now sitting in the #1 spot. Transportation is rife with offenders.

Hello Norma, for an image to be very similar to another there need to be two images with the same subject and same pose/scene. You posted only link to one image - please post a link to another image that has the same subject with same pose/scene.

Norma, I went to his page and didn't see any duplicates. He does take multiple images at the same location, but is careful to change each one to make it unique. He clearly shifts his position and often his settings to get a different effect. While you can see that the images were taken from the same general location with the same basic subject(s), they are clearly different from each other. From what I can tell, that is allowed on Pixoto. In the animal category, some photographers specialize in images of foxes. Others favor eagles or owls. As long as the images are clearly different, they are allowed to enter multiple images of the same subject.

Asif is a master. He takes multiple images of the same flower, but each is taken from a unique angle and paired with a different background. I only wish I could duplicate his work.

At some point all of you have to accept responsibility for doing some research. I have reported this same image over and over again over months of seeing the same or similar image. Pleas do what they hired you for. I am NOT going to take more and more of my time to do your job. All you have to do is look in his account.

Norma, Pixoto rely on users to report images. Report team doesn't know which images you think are very similar and that is why it is important in the report to include a link to the second image so report team can check if indeed images are very similar or not. I've checked both accounts and I don't see very similar images to both links you posted. I could be wrong, and that is why I asked you to post links to other images that you think are very similar to links you posted.

How are we supposed to include a link when we are dueling? It isn't possible. Even when I have included a link most of the times the image has not been removed. Note these images and others are missing the EXIF data. That is not n accident. the photographers are removing the data. If it doesn't have the data it should be automatically removed.

Norma, Jasenka is doing her job. She addressed the issue and tried to explain how Pixoto works. Scott is the tech guru who fixes highly technical problems. He is not the one to complain to about what you believe is a problem with duplicate/similar images. To be honest, I am surprised that Jasenka has responded to these complaints. The policy is that you must report an image through the report button and wait at least five days before coming here. Then you must give specifics of the two images that you feel are duplicates/very similar. That is how it works. They do not go to a page and scan through images trying to find the ones that you think are similar.

At this point, I will ask you to start a new thread for this problem. When I started this stream, it was to address technical issues that were plaguing the site. That is why I pleaded to Scott to intervene. He is the technical guru of Pixoto. Since your complaints do not address technical issues, they do not belong on this thread.

Well if that is the case, similar means nothing. It has to be exactly the same and that is NOT what the rules say. Amazing you don't understand the definition of similar. In the beginning of when I was submitting I also took photos, differently composed, one from vertical and one horizontal, edited very differently and they were removed for being similar. Appears to me the rules are applied differently depending on who you are. I have contacted Scott to report the issues.

I think all of you need to look up the definition of the word similar. It seems you have lost your way as a company and will continue to lose customers if you don't clean up your act.

I am not a Pixoto employee. Unfortunately, your rants are filling up this thread with a topic unrelated to the purpose of why I started it in the first place. I truly do not want to be involved in your quest to change the policies of Pixoto, but keep getting emails each time you comment about this. I don't think you would appreciate it if I did that to you. If you start a new thread, you can focus it specifically on your topic. I won't get emails about it. I would very much appreciate that. If you choose to continue on this thread, I will insist that Pixoto delete the entire thread. Then you will be forced to drop it or start your own. Either way works for me.

Jaskenka and Scott, I feel this stream has run its course and will be perfectly fine if you choose to delete it. I started the stream and give you permission to do that. I feel some are using it as a platform for unrelated issues that I do not agree with. Thank you for addressing the technical issues identified here.

Scott, are images with watermarks still against the rules? They used to be disqualified almost immediately when reported. One image has a clear watermark in the lower left corner. I reported it the day it was uploaded (October 30th) and twice since, but it is still there. I am baffled by this and am just wondering if I am wrong.
