Coming back to the topic of similarity... Was just looking through the best photos of 2015 to the day and could not help but notice 3 painfully similar images of violin from the same author, all of them with the scores around 800. How come, Jasenka? Mind me, great photo, but does it need to be posted as many times as those lilies with drops of water? ;)

Oh, and the author has quite a few more on the same scene/subject, etc. So, just curious why they are all still there. No one has reported them yet? Or is it too late?

You cannot do anything about these... As per Pixoto rules they are not at all similar.. If he keeps on changing the arrangement of the leaves or the angle of the shot or the way bow is placed,,etc they are deemed similar. You'll hundreds of such 'near similar' images in Pixoto and nobody can do anything about it...

Hello Dimaint, since on these images scene/pose changes images are not very similar.

I hope this helps.

I don't care, they will only look like fools...they only criticize too much if the person involve is not in their own league. Besides, I'm used to be ganged up.

Don't worry I'm not reporting the images, I'm just reporting that the "report button" is not working on those images...lol.

Garces, since you are not reporting images (some are submitted less then 5 days ago) and you state you report that report button is not working, can you please let me know what happens when you click on report button?

Jasenka, it's obviously clear that I am reporting the images through report button. It seems nothing has been done, so that means it is either button is not working or Pixoto will not be taking action?

I'm really amused when the so called "clean Pixoto" advocates are so silent on this issue like Lenore, Tim, John P., Bridgette, etc. Are your guns only aimed at togs from ID? LOL.

You haven't been around much, have you, Rey? Bridgette and her multiple personalities have been banned from the forum.

As for me, I'm not getting involved in your little spat one way or the other. I don't care what kind of war you're waging with John, or he with you. Sorry to disappoint :-)

haha, I'm not waging war on anyone...I just want to hear what's your take on this issue as you're so vocal on those who violates the rule. Any word? Is John violating or not? A simple yes or no reply is fair enough...:)

Rey, I was kidding about not seeing any watermarks. I'm not even going to look at the links you posted. I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. You and John have been at each other for ages and you certainly aren't going to draw me in on that.

Nice try, though :-)

Lenore, John is just one of those I have reported. In fact, Dipali's digital flowers had been re-categorized before, she didn't whined as she might have realized it was really digital art images. It's not about anyone, it's about how Pixoto applies the rule to all. Now, it seems you lost credibility as "clean Pixoto" advocate for not saying a word on this issue because it means you condone John while others you don't. Sometimes, telling a friend of his/her mistake will do more good than harm. Try it! :)

what I find amusing is how some of the high scoring togs you mention have themes they work with that get 700 and 800 scores regularly for I might add some really good images the funny bit is the other togs that start making images of cotton reals and colourful wine glasses oh and my favourite lady with an Indian head dress that score very low marks. why they wonder is my cotton reel not an 800 image.

The answer is simple its nt as good!

I o however feel like buying kopi a studio session with a different model and banning head dresses and feathers ;-)

Thank you, Garces, for pointing out the images in your first post that needed attention. Two of the images have been deleted, while the others remain. In the lion photos, one shot shows clenched teeth, as in a snarl, the other shows mouth open. In the first tiger in the water shots, one image shows the tiger looking directly at the camera, while the other is at a slight angle and not a straight head shot. The second of the tiger shots has the two images with different head positions and different pose. In one, his chin is almost in the water, and the other it is about a foot above the water. In the eagle shots, they can be considered a different pose because of the slight difference in the width of the open mouth (beak). Admittedly, these last four sets of shots are similar but with enough difference as to not qualify as very similar.

More importantly, I want you to know I have gotten over our last discussions on this board, and admit you were absolutely correct in reporting some of these shots. I would never post a duplicate or very similar pose and angle shot deliberately. I edit my work and put them in folders with the date marked on the folders. Many times I will try several different edits and they all go into the folder. Almost always I will submit the last edit because that is the one I consider the best of the lot. Sometimes one of the other edits strikes me as the better shot and it slips through the cracks and is entered. I need to design a system where that no longer happens.

Photography is not my life, and I am not a professional, but it is my passion. And being a passion, and having been a member of this site for almost four years, I do not want to spend my time here defending myself or engaged in verbal assaults with you or anyone else. Life is way too short for that.

So again, I thank you for pointing out the error of my ways and know I will be more vigilant in the future, and if an image slips through the cracks, I'm sure you will be there to point it out to me. :-)

Meant every word, Janet...this community board has become nothing more than a place where disgruntled togs can whine or forced to defend themselves or argue or insult, and it's a big waste of time, when we all should be concentrating on our own photography and how to improve it by asking questions, picking brains and moving forward.
