Sign Up with Facebook only is a huge UX mistake

I don't have Facebook account. And I am not going to start it for the sake of your website. It actually doesn't help to keep voting fair because the one, who has real intention to be unfair here, will spend one's time to creating fake Facebook accounts. You are playing police, that looks very unfriendly and silly.

It essentially recommends that you have more than one sign in option, so rather than just Facebook you allow sign in through other third party sites such as Google, Yahoo etc., We allow sign in through Twitter and there has been some mention about possibly allowing it through Google+ in the future.

Sandra, Quora allows a few options for signing up including email (small text link under 3 blue buttons). But, yes, it looks like an universal madness :)

Sherry, I need to sign UP before signing IN. How can I join Pixoto without FB right now?

"You must sign up using Facebook (it helps keep the voting fair and unbiased)"

I MUST! It's just incredible :)

Nadia, if you go to www.pixoto.com you can SIGN UP with Twitter or Facebook. Click on the Sign Up with Twitter link if you don't want to use Facebook.

Sherry, thank you. But I don't have Twitter either. Nowadays everybody gone mad a bit, as for me. If I don't like social media it's considered as a mental illness. But believe me, I know a lot enough people who are not present in social media and are alive and kicking at the same time. They also have friends, they communicate with other people, they just don't have a need to publish every minor event of their life in public. So please do us a favour and add alternative ways to join your community. FB is not an universal criterion of honesty and fairness. Thank you for understanding.

I agree whole heartedly and I now cannot recommend Pixoto until this is fixed.
There is a strong group of photographers both amateur and pro on the various forums I contribute to and they are not interested in a FB or TW only sign in.

I run a tech company and have for 30 years and this is a bad policy of sign in.

I have a hundred thousand + posts on various forums worldwide and have never seen such a nonsensical approach.

Sort it out....if I can sign in without FB or Twit....then new members should have that option as well.

Welcome to pixoto. I have the same experience and have given the same and more suggestion.

for a site that had so much potential it has sucked lately with corresponding attitudes.
