Shouldn't this site have Photography broken down into the following:

Photography - beginners
Photography - Intermediate
Photography - Advanced
Photography - professional

And then have those categories broken down into:

Using soft focus lenses -- like 3.5 to 5.6 zooms
Using sharp lenses -- like 2.8
Using full format 35mm cameras
Using large format cameras and then reducing the images to 35mm
Has so much money to spend, 500,000 on camera equipment is considered normal

Okay, seriously, we really need a place where we can have fun with this and not be at each others throats.

Creativity knows no boundries save the limitations of the equipment being used.

Classifications would help make it fun and exciting once again.

problem is, Redwar,...people lie...and those who really are novices like myself have no idea what the rest of your post relates to.... :) so I don't want to be classed as anything other than beginner and ignorant to boot. I have a camera. I point it at stuff I think is interesting and I press the button.... I can adjust a few things like exposure, zoom and mode but I am lost when you talk about f stops and aperture etc. But others will understand and use all that you talk about and still say they are using an iphone. then edit in a program that strips out any info, and lie through their teeth about it... who polices it, who decides? I sold a card I made once so now I am a Professional photographer? not damn likely lol

Wow, all those categories would take all the fun out, imagine the reporting and complaining! Pixoto would need to hire nine hundred and sixty seven point three moderators just to handle the complaints of a few members.

How would we decide who is advanced...advanced beyond what? What if we get really good beginners and really bad professionals? I think we only need to reorganize into two separate categories...Talented, and not so talented, but even then how do you decide...make new members choose between a picture by Ansel Adams and a picture by Sponge Bob?
