How does the site sell images to people outside of the community if the site does not appear on the first 10 pages of a google search for stock images, royalty free stock images or any other search for stock images? surely you can't expect people to go over 10 pages.

As you've pointed out yourself - there's better stock sites elsewhere, so why waste your time here? I like the fun aspect of Pixoto - now that I understand what it can and can't offer, but I wouldn't for one second assume I would ever see $1 from thesite because I posted a pic here. There's easier ways of making a decent living out of photography, but posting pictures blindly to the internet isn't one of them.

You are so wrong Tim, a lot of people make a decent income from Stock Photography. And if your happy for images to be sold and never see any return then fair play to you.

Graham, I only sold 11 subscriptions or $2.75 worth of images plus $20 prize of best of the week or a total of $22.75 since I started to join this year. On the other hand, I have earned $350 worth of fees for shooting a birthday and a wedding anniversary. The work for the two occasions only takes me 4 hours including post processing. I'm not a pro but why did they hire me? I showed them my Pixoto profile! As Tim pointed out, you can earn decent money outside of photo stock so why are you so bothered about Pixoto's being not in the google search engine pages? Think of something out of the box so you can earn more! Unless...your images really sucks! (which I think it is..) .Peace! :)

The reason I am bothered is because if people offer a service they should deliver, your clients expect a service from you and you deliver. You think my images suck, fair play you are entitled to your opinion.

I do the wedding photography, I have my own website which is on Page 1 of Google under 4 different searches. I would never offer a service that I couldn't deliver on and I have clients recommending me so I must be doing something right. I am not the world's best photographer and I know very little about website technology but if I can get my site up to page 1 then I can't see any reason why Jason can't. I took one of image's from Pixoto the same image from my Canstock Account and in 3 weeks I put them both on Page 1 of the Google Search, the Canstock image is at No 1 and the Pixoto image is at No 3. It's not about having the best voted image that means nothing if no one can find it, it's about pushing yourself to the front.
