I got it too and uploaded 12 pictures to it. In 3 days I've had over 4000 unique views but I'm worried. The images don't seem to be protected. Interestingly enough, I can get into the site through Facebook, just as I do this site.

Thanks Jane, I've been on "YouPic" for two years & I agree that I get twice the views there than I do on the 4 other sites I'm on. HOWEVER, to get this EXACT same message from 7 different people, all women, all in Pakistan & all with no images on their respective Pixoto site has me concerned.

It's unfortunately not a new problem. It's popped up again recently but it's not the first time we've all been spammed by these Youpic folks.

Certainly makes me decide to steer clear of Youpic :-)

Not a site I would trust if it resorts to spamming other sites

I got the same message as well from Sofia Alex. He/she added this E-Mail address as well:

"marinajones32@outlook.com"

and appearantly she "follows" me.

Why do they do this?

Jasenka, I think people are doing a good job of reporting these spam messages. To me, they really are a cheap marketing ploy by YouPic which makes me determined to never participate in their site.

However, some members are not as savvy about this since they may not have seen messages all around Pixoto like I do as a contest moderator. Is there any way that Pixoto can delete the messages left behind from these spammers? I think it would help deter the attacks if there accounts and messages were removed as fast as they went up. I know that several accounts were de-activated, but the annoying messages are still visible for all Pixoto members to see. It doesn't matter to the YouPik people that you shut down the accounts, because their message is still getting out and they are laughing about it as they open up a new spam account.

Maybe, more will be like me and will be totally turned off by these spam attacks, but I think it would be better to shut them down and remove any evidence that they ever existed.

People can delete the messages themselves if they want -- I already deleted the ones left on my photos :-)

I know that we can delete them ourselves, but many of our members don't realize that these messages are spam. As a contest moderator, I see hundreds of these messages, many to members who are fairly new to Pixoto. They don't look at the other photos nearly as often as I do, so they just think that someone nice gave them a compliment and a good lead. Very few of them delete those messages, so they are out there for anyone to see, and perhaps to follow-up on.

I got the same message, I immediately thought its probably a scammer trying to get you to sign up to their site, which may look ok now but it is likely an attempt to get your personal information.
