look at the boat sub-category. No 1,2,6,7,9. Always the same boats, again and again. They are nice but I don't understand how people keep voting for the same pictures. Is this creativity? Taking ONE picture and keep posting it. Is this not BORING?

I Agree with you... that's a shame .. They are ruining the taste of viewing the photography.

Some one should moderate these things

I agree and for my part I have reached voter fatigue where such repetitive pictures are concerned.

I am disappointed to see repetitive images of the same subject, same location almost filling the best photographs gallery of several front runners, This in no creative photography.

Many good photographs do not carry image information. This may be made compulsory ,so that others can learn and appreciate more critically.

the shame is also that these pics get awards, again and again.

I often think that the submitter does this to up the number of photos in the category, thereby obtaining better percentages on their photos in the top 20% or whatever. I'm with you folks....boring as hell.

I have to agree. How many nearly identical pictures of a bridge, boat or even a squirrel can someone submit in one day (rhetorical question). It's really sad that people will go to these lengths.

The photo club I belong to doesn't allow "similar" images and once an image has been recognized with an award it is ineligible for future competitions. We also limit the number of entries a person can enter to two entries per class per competition. The club is 50 years old, so they know a thing or two about photo competitions. If Pixoto would implement some similar rules it would make the competitions a much better experience.

Just my 2 cents FWIW...

Certainly, go to http://lakecountycameraclub.org/club_... The contest rules can be found in the link labeled Club Descriptions and Rules. See pages 6 through 10.

I totally agree. I have seen enough overhead merchant boats for a lifetime. I just automatically vote for anything BUT the same or similar image now. The same goes for the blasted water droplets in Fine Art. How many (hundreds) of the same style water droplets by the same photographer will there be enough? How many colored glass bottles by another... ? There needs to be a tighter control of these repetitive images. Yawn.

Ageed! A Macro category split into Nature, Still life, Abstract, etc. is badly needed. Please?
