It seems some of the members on this site win awards no matter what they post, and it doesn't seem to matter whether its that good or not, its like they win all the time so just give them awards anyway. Is it because they are paid members? Just curious..it does seem a little tilted in their favor..

Hello Dawnella, if you check leaderboards you can see that Pro and Basic accounts have similar chances to get awards.

As example - in this week's leaderboard top 10 places are divided between Basic and Pro accounts as follows:

Abstract: 6 Basic, 4 Pro
Animal: 4 Basic, 6 Pro
Animal - Cats: 7 Basic, 3 Pro
Animal - Dogs: 6 Basic, 4 Pro
Artistic objects: 4 Basic, 6 Pro
Babies: 7 Basic, 6 Pro

This is just fraction of all categories, but if you take this as a sample in top 10 places percentage of images belonging to free (Basic) accounts is 56,67% which means Basic accounts have more chances to be in top 10 places then Pro accounts, so data show that it is not tilted in Pro's favor.

I hope this helps.

Dawnella, you are probably following that person and in your feed you see any activity on that account.

True, but everything and I mean everything this person submits wins multiple awards and it just seems extreme comparatively speaking. I just can't help but feel somethings odd about that..

Just jumping in here, but I know that 99% of the time I delete something immediately if it doesn't win a Best of the Day award. The only time I don't is when I think I've submitted it too late to get enough voting time in for Best of the Day but the score is such that it has a good shot at a Best of the Week award. Then, I'll leave it alone until those awards are issued to see if it won. And, if it didn't, out it goes.

So.....what I mean is that if you looked at my feed you'd think that everything I submit wins -- which would be very far from the truth LOL

Well said lenore! I used to do the same thing, What stopped me is that several pics I was going to delete were actually bought by someone before I had the chance to delete them...surprised the heck outta' me...so now I leave all up, unless the duels go 20 to 1 against them, which usually happens to my personal favorite images, of course.

Good point, Tim! Were they bought as canvases, or stock? I have my stuff in the market but not for regular stock, just as editorial-only. Even with that, I've made sales. :-)

I am glad to hear some are making sales this way. I was wondering if that was just a pipe dream..

Dawnella, "Editorial only" determine usage of stock image. Images that are sold as stock images (without "Editorial use only") can be user commercially, while "Editorial only" usage for stock images determine that such images can not be used for commercial purposes.

I hope this helps.
