If we can add photographic elements in Illustration and design then the rules need to be altered so that everyone can have that benefit. It is not fair that some people benefit and others have to follow the rules. Illustration and design definition goes -

Illustration – illustrations created using computer software (illustrator, photoshop, etc). The entire image must be composed of elements created by you. If your “illustration” includes a photo then it should be placed in Photography/Digital Art and not illustration. Subcategories include: Sci Fi & Fantasy, People, Business, Products & Objects, Flowers & Nature, Places, Animals, Cartoons & Characters, Abstract & Patterns, Food & Drink, Buildings, Holiday

any Illustration containing a photo goes to Digital Art. I see that letters are being made by use of photos. Please alter the definition. I am totally confused.

personally I think its a category that doesn't work,we get people posting all the same kind of design, nothing really original...and if someone wanted that kind of computer generated stuff I suspect they could do it themselves.
Traditional art is full of what looks like computer drawings or semi-naked women...

I think its time to close them down.
