Reporting a photo in a wrong category

Hi Scott,  I've noticed (not just once) that when voting on photos and the photo is obviously in the wrong category and I report it, it will often not allow me to comment to say WHY I'm reporting it and without being able to comment, it won't submit the report.  For instance.... there is a fox in Big cats, lions and tiger category.  It would not allow me to change the comment (from a previous report, it just kept showing up every time I tried to report a photo) so I finally submitted the comment the way it was (something about a building that shouldn't have been in a landscape category).

Hello Lena, can you please let me know what browser and OS you are using?

I just now tried reporting and while it will let me first enter a comment, next time it will repeat that comment, but I'm able to change it and report.

Can you please let me know what happens when you try to change comment? Do you get any error messages?

Regarding your example, that image shouldn't be reported - the fox is an animal and it belongs in Animal category regardless of the subcategory. Please note that you should only report the image if it is in the incorrect category, not subcategory. Such invalid reports will only lengthen time report team will act on valid reports for images that really need to be recategorized to different category.

I use both Firefox and Chrome. I think that this time it was Firefox since that's where I have Pixoto open. No error message. It just won't let me delete or change the previous comment to type one that pertains to the current photo. Or it won't allow me to post a reason if it's blank. The submit button will not "light up". If I leave the comment that was entered before, it will allow me to hit the submit button.

What is the point in having a subcategory if it doesn't matter if the animal in question is not what the subcategory lists?? It is a fox.... it should be in the "other" category then, not the Big cats, lions and tigers. That's just plain stupid.

Thank you for information Lena, just one more thing can you please which version of Firefox you are using? And which operating system you work on?

Subcategories are for organizational purposes only - we don't moderate subcategories and user can change subcategory without impacting image score at all. Also, all images in one category will duel each other regardless of subcategories.

Adding to what Jasenka said, if you want to search your images (or anyone else's), the sub-categories can be useful if you only want to find images in a particular sub-group. I can see why Pixoto doesn't worry too much about this. Tons of images get entered into the wrong main category. That impacts voting and awards, so those reports need to be a priority. While sub-categories can help refine a search, since they don't impact scores or awards, it makes sense to focus reports on the more important things.

One other thing.... there is a "comment" button beneath each photo and there are times that I would like to comment on a photo, either by saying it's beautiful or asking where it was taken but that comment button is non functioning.
