Some photographers repetitively delete and then resubit their best photographs. I am not sure as to the motivation (except maybe to make cash) but do you find this practice acceptable?

I dont have a problem with it...I can only speak for myself, but if I resubmit a photo it is because I believe it is a good photo and it needs a second go around... some good photos just bomb out for various reasons.. but if you resubmit them a bit later, sometimes they do better 0R sometimes worse.. a bad photo is a bad photo no matter when you submit and sometimes it is hard to 'see' what others see in your own work...When you resubmit you lose any awards you may have had on that photo.. though you bring up a interesting point as to why do people resubmit... in the hopes of chasing the money prize or for personal satisfaction for you feel your photo is a good photo and should have placed higher in point value.

So I have about 15 photos that have rated highly (first of day, week etc) - so do you believe it acceptable that I keep deleting them and resubmitting just my highest previously rated work and thereby hogging the limelight. This is what is happening with some photographers and it bothers me. I have even commented on one photo and the photographer ignores me and keeps on doing it with the same photo - it is now up for the third time and holding first place again in its category. It is a great photo but I am really tired of seeing it month after month it makes me wonder if he is struggling to produce anything else that is good enough to get a first?

Maybe I am just missing the point?

I agree with Derek - say the picture gets a 1st for the week and the tog gets the prize money. Then he removes it, and again uses it to win a weekly 1st. Does he get a second prize award for the same picture?

I feel that there is nothing wrong with resubmitting an image you feel is good, but that did poorly, but images that have won 5% or better should not be able to be resubmitted. That would pose a technical challenge for the Pixoto team, but that is only fait IMHO.

I am new to pixoto, but went pro to support the site and the idea behind it. But between this issue and the people who are experts with photoshop, I dont see a reason to continue my membership. But there is room for improvement so I will continue to ride it out.

I am a new photographer, and was hoping the competing here would help me improve. But its rough when your not going up against other photos but instead its photos vs images.

We don't have a rule against resubmitting an image more than once. When you do this you lose your awards, points and the image isn't eligible for future prize money. I understand that there are a few people who abuse this but given the complexity of creating rules against it and policing we don't see this as an area we should be focusing on (especially given all of the other areas for improvement we have).
