Hi Mia, thank you for your contribution, i`m afraid, no matter how
often we report issues or suggestions nothing will ever happen to sett
the pixoto world on "fire"!
Submissions are down because lots of photographers gave up and left the site, thats why contests never close on time, not enouph voters!
You, me and others, have made over the years so many constructive
suggestions and proposals and never got a satisfactory reply and very
often not even an answer.
Sometimes we are lucky to receive a "positive" answer from Scott,
mostly whith lots of intends and promises that by a majority never get
Very often i couldn`t help thinking, that this is only delaying tactics!
Last year (2018) i haven`t entered any images and so this year. I
gave up like lots of other Photographers, looks as if this is Pixotos
intend and goal, or how could you explain pixotos behavior?
I think we all had sufficient patience over the years, its time to admit
that all our hopes, efforts, suggestions ideas etc. are a waste of time
and going down the drain but, .......... Scott can put me right! *lol*
The truth sometimes hurts!
I totally agree with your recriminations and your comments.
I have already raised many problems, without any response from Pixoto, but also without much assistance from my colleagues... or almost!
It is true that there are a lot of malfunctions, few participants, quite a lot of frustrations.
The lack of participation of many of us easily explains the problems of declining votes, messy contest management, and so many other malfunctions.
But I am an eternal optimist, and as the song says, I still believe in it and I continue... and I realize that I am not the only one.
And I also realize that over the last four years my results remain at the same level, even if the conditions have not improved... That said, I sincerely believe that it is certainly not by stopping any activity on the site that things will progress.
There are also behaviors from participants that perhaps need to be changed...
Useful voting, for example, plenty of submission (over 50 images/day from some), systematic demolition of good images and so on.
So it’s true that waiting weeks to get the monthly or annual awards is boring, but when you finally get them, what pleasure isn’t it?
Me I hope in the futur and my only request today would be for Scott to communicate a little more often.
i have posted the 2018 award schedule here:
Expect more frequent updates from here on out.
Here are the upcoming releases you will see over the next 2 months:
Image Submission Improvements
Massive Stock/Search improvements
Reporting System Improvements
IOS/Android App Update
The other main reason we are starting a new one is that this platform does not give us the ability to address issues as quickly as possible. Plan on seeing the new community within the next few months.
