Pixoto not responding

When I scroll through my images the Pixoto site becomes unresponsive when I get to my one thousand plus image. This has been happening for the last week. It happens when I scroll through my images from my home page and when I scroll through my images to submit in a contest.

Thank you for information Cal. I would suggest that you limit images by categories and subcategories for easier and quicker display and loading of your images.

I hope this helps.

Jasenka, I think you may have misunderstood Cal's problem. It's happened to me, too, but I've just blown this one off. It should be added as #11 on the list of technical issues. When you want to enter a contest, or just go through your images to see an old one, you get to a point where the system hangs up and you get the whirling circle thing. Sometimes, if you wait long enough, it will eventually start showing the next group. Other times, you just keep watching the spinner till you give up.

Thank you for information SweetNana. As I replied to Cal, limiting images to category (or even more to subcategory) would help that you don't have to load a large number of images.

When you are entering images into a contest, is there a way to limit it to a category or sub-category? If so, I haven't found it. As far as I know, you must scroll through all of your images starting with the most recent. Please enlighten me if there is a better way. If so, I sure have wasted a lot of time.

Go figure! I never saw the drop downs to limit your contest search to specific categories and sub-categories. After all these years, I learned something new today. Thanks, Jasenka. Consider me enlightened!

Wow, just tried it and it works, I have also been wasting my time in the past, this is going to make it much easier to find specific images to enter contests.

Hello Cal, there is drop-down menu - when you are on your homepage, it is located below the map as "Show images in: All Types"

And if you are in contest submit page when you click on "My Pixoto Images" it is located right below that button, also as: "Show images in: All Types"

So you just need to click on "All Type" select type, category (and subcategory if you would like to further limit the number of images) and only your images in that category (or subcategory) will be listed.

Please let me know if this doesn't help.

Thank you Jasenka. I didn't realize that the categories expanded after you selected a type. I tried it and it worked well. Glad to know that this is available to narrow down the number of photos that we have to view.
