Oh, darn, I forgot to put water drops on my "fake" flowers.

Someone once said, "A rose by any other name is still a rose."

Really don't care who said it, I'm just using it as an example of just how trite -- and scared I might upset their apple cart -- some folks are when they hit their "oh, my god, he's moving up"-- panic button.

Point in case was a shot I did after work two nights ago where I went to a flower shop and got permission to take pictures of their flowers.

Now, me being me, I saw some really pretty flowers. And with 20/120 and 20/30 vision -- that's on a good day -- I started snapping away.

You know, its pretty hard to know the difference between a real flower these days and a fake. Especially, when you really want to believe you are getting the lighting right, the composition correct, and the pretty pedals all in focus as much as possible.

So, me being the bumbling bumble head that I am, came home smiling like a chess hire cat knowing that I just got one or two of those colorful marvels in focus.

Man, I was all excited! Lightroom gave me the snap, crackle pop that I wanted. And

I'm thinking, Carl, you've met your match. (Actually, I know better, but it felt real good to see all those marvelous colors finally pop in right in front of my eyes.)

Also not true is the fact that I have have peaked doing any of the images I've taken so far and take none of this seriously like some people around here do. But if I ever do, I won't be here telling you about it here because this dollars for doughnut hole enthusiasts and pigeon hold minded togs isn't exactly where you showcase your truly professional work. (I'm going to get hammered for saying that, it isn't politically correct.)

Anyways, so I pit up my images thinking a flower is a flower and the world as Pixoto knows it agreed.

Until 2 pm yesterday, when my images of flowers were, indeed, caught by the the image police for being "fake" and placed into the morgue of morgues, Digital Art\Other.

I took this as a compliment. as even in the Digital Art\Other, you can't keep a nice shot down.

Guess if i had taken an atomizer and sprayed the flower with it, I would have realized the flowers were indeed fake. The colors would have started to run and I would have known it was a fake.

Life moves on.

Thanks! I guess I should have asked the flower shop owner where the real flowers were had I known so many were fake. But then, she could have told me they all were and my cataracts wouldn't have known the truth.

God bless you! Sweet story. My husband has the worst eyes. He really did buy me fake purple roses at the flower shop years ago. Seriously. He is such a sweetheart! Nice story.

Hello Redwar, this image was recategorized from Flower category to Artistic objects category where it belongs, it has not been recategorized to Digital art category.

I hope this helps.

LOL, sometimes looking at the price tag helps, but a good shot none-the-less. Hope it does well in the new category.

If there was a way to double like a comment, this would be the time where I'd love to hit it more than once!

Thanks! You made my day.

And, yes, tbe image has gained back all the points it lost.

Again, thank you!

Digital art doesn't even try to look real, such as fantasy montages, photoshopped stitched together so it is unrealistic... Artistic Objects are things like antiques, toys, other man-made objects that are produced, also the place for still life photos. Digital art is not a 'regular' photo.. it is manipulated, if you photo shop and manipulate a photo of the desert so that it looks like the surface of the moon with an 'earth' hanging in the sky... that is digital art. if you place a bunch of rocks stacked on top of each other then take a picture of it.. that is Artistic objects.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb... this one would be categorized as Artistic Object... it is a bunch of windows and some reflections as it came out of my camera. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb... this one I have used Intuos4 and manipulated the image by drawing on it, exaggerating the spooky stuff I saw there. It would be Digital Art. by the way, neither did well so I deleted from this site lol
