Hi Lorie -- Are you seeing this across all categories that subcategories are greyed out for you?

It happened with landscape too. I tried going out of the catagory I wanted and back in to it but then the sub catagories were for the previous catagory I had been in. I signed out completely and tried again but then the sub catagory was grayed out again. I haven't tried to re-enter it today.

I am having the same problem. The sub category is a light gray and it will not scroll down, keeping me from publishing my photo.

can you guys try clearing your cache?

In Internet Explorer 9, click Tools (or press Alt-x), and then proceed to step 2. In Internet Explorer 8, proceed to step 2.

From the Safety menu in the upper right, click Delete Browsing History... .

Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.

Click Delete.

Let me know if that helps.

ALSO: We are pretty sure that the problem does not exist in FireFox and Chrome. But we want to fix it in IE so let us know if clearing the cache helps.

Jason - I have the same problem they are having - no sub category and it will not let me submit my photo - I have Windows XP - IE7 and I just went and cleaned out my cache - still no luck what so ever. HELP - what's the deal here?

Karen - we still can't reproduce this on that end. If you use Firefox or Chrome it should work fine.

Sorry Jason but I should have to download Firefox of Chrome to fix a problem that your site has - you need to fix and get it corrected so people with IE can download their pictures to your site. You need to be accomodating to your customers, sorry. If not, then pixoto isn't what it's cracked up to be as far as I'm concerned - this just isn't right. I have cleaned my cache out and still cannot download anything to this site - FIX IT~

OK - well finally it worked - Thank you for fixing it but I do suggest you quit telling people to download Firefox and Chrome - most people have IE and this site should work with that as well. Thank you for fixing the problem~

Karen - we're trying to find it and fix it (that's why i'm asking all these questions on this thread). The problem is that it only happens for some people, some of the time and we can not replicate it on any of our test servers. I had hoped it was a cache issue but it doesn't seem to be.

If it is important for you to be able to submit your photos, chrome and Firefox are a work around while we try to get it fixed - I just don't know how long it is going to take because we don't know what is causing it.

Is it happening for all subcategories for you - or just for one like Mathew below?

We actually didn't do anything. Did you do something differently? (maybe closed your browser and re-opened?

Nope I did nothing different - it just worked - so I would say you have a Glitch in your system and somehow, need to find out what the Glitch is - and No did not close brower and re-open it - Damn computers anyway right? LOL - I would hate to be a compter techy -

Really? Just one category? We are just baffled by this. Are you using IE? Can you try Chrome or Firefox?

I am not where I can try Chrome but I was able to isoilate the issue some if that helps. I took this picture;

http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra...

and uploaded it under animals, then went in and hit resubmit and was able to place it in the proper category and subcategory there. (BTW you owe me 10 credits LOL).

I'm wondering if somehow last night the new subcategories didn't get goobered because I have noticed on dueling that many of the fine art images are appearing in my duels and not very many people categories are. You may want to look at the people submissions today versus say yesterday to see if there is a steep decline indicating a more systemic problem.

Hope this helps. -- Matt

I've completely cleaned up my computer (cache, cookies and such) and I just tried again to upload with no luck. Sub catagory is still grayed out. Still using the same photo of a statue. I could go to cities, street and parks and the sub catagory does come up. I tried going to a different catagory and back into the one I want to use but then the sub catagories are not the ones for Buildings and Architecture. I have not tried Firefox or Chrome. Not really wanting to put additional stuff on my computer.

I just wanted to let you know that I bit the bullit and downloaded FireFox. I can't believe the difference. Submitting a picture today was a breeze. Scrolling is faster too. Thanks for the tip. It helped. I do have another question though. Were daily awards given out for this past week? I think I might have had one, maybe?

Firefox and Chrome are both sooo much faster than IE.

Yes - we have been giving out daily awards. Let us know if you have an image that doesn't have one that should.

I had a couple that I thought should have a daily award. Not sure exactly where they were that first day. Most were in the Artistic Objects catagory. Pretty sure 5 Bayou Blues Guitars should have got at least one. It stayed in the top 100 most of last week.

I really felt like I should have had a couple daily wins last week. I had several pictures that did very good. Any chance you can investigate this?

Lorie - if you want to post an a link to an image I can check it out. Usually the issue is that photographers are looking at the subcategory rather than the category...

Jason, Here is the link to my pictures in question. When following my pictures I am going to Images and selecting where I entered the photos in the drop down box. In this case it was artistic objectsIf this isn't correct to follow them, then where do I go? I really appreciate that you are taking the time to look in to it for me.

The rose picture may not have made it but I really think the guitars did.

Jason, I should be staying on the main image page, huh? I tried to get down to my picture with the score I had wrote down last. I am guessing it was somewhere in the 3000's. My computer lost virtual memory or something so I never actually saw it. I think I get it now. Sorry to have bothered you. I know you are busy with all the changes that took place. I am very happy with them but have still put stuff in the wrong catagory...oh well, I am learning. Thank you!!!
