my votes disappeared from my latest flower. Yesterday it was approaching 600 and today it is 155 with only 7 votes.

My latest photo of a flower was approaching 600 yesterday, its first day I published, and today all the votes seemed to vanish, and I am back to 155 with only 7 votes.

Looks like it has been recategorized Scott. Sometimes this mistake is made when placing this kind of shot in Nature Up Close/Flowers where Pixoto wants to see it in Flowers/Single Flowers. Or is there something else going on?

thank you for getting back to me so quickly. this was truly a macro shot used with my macro lens and cropped in to get the details of the inside of the flower. I hope that helps as I have taken many flower shots and place them in Pixoto and not had this issue.

Jasenka is the Pixoto representative here in this forum (I am just a user just like you). She'll most probably be able to answer your question a bit later on the day :-)

Scott, there is a subcategory called "macro" in the Abstract category but the entire Abstract category is supposed to be for photographs where the subject is basically unrecognizable, not just for macro shots -- especially for macro shots where the subject is obvious. This is Pixoto's category description for Abstract: "These are photos that don’t have a clearly definable subject or scene."

Did you maybe put this shot in Abstract? If so, that was incorrect and somebody probably reported it while they were voting in the duels and it was rightfully moved to the Flowers category.

Of course, I'm just guessing that you put it in Abstract based on your comment about using your macro lens. As John says, I'm sure Jasenka will be able to follow the trail and clear this up for you.

And ..... I really wish Pixoto would remove the Macro subcategory from Abstract as it's very confusing.......

Hello Scott, since you submitted that image to Nature Up Close category, image was reported and recategorized by report team to its correct category - Flower category.

I hope this helps.

My photo of mt. Shasta shot through a gate was recatagorized from mountains to buildings and architecture. Seems rather arbitrary. It's really not a picture of the gate. That's merely the frame.

Hello Ken, if the gate occupies more then 20% of image then it doesn't belong in Landscape category.

If you can please post link to photo in question I can ask for clarification.

I noticed some points seemed to have been dropped from one of my photos also. Yesterday 27-06-2015 it had 652 votes. Today it has 649. I thought this had been done before but could not be sure.

Hello Martin, when you first upload image even if you lose duel your score will go up, but later when duel is lost image score can go down.

I hope this helps.

Martin, are you talking about the score of your photo? If so, the scores can always change as the images keep dueling. Sometimes older photos do seem to stay stuck at a score for a while, but no score should ever be considered permanent :-)

Thank you Lenore, I read that it was about score, but now I see Martin wrote about votes.
