Metadata missing on some of my uploads yet information is in the original file

I don't know if this has been happening to anyone else, but lately I have noticed some of my uploaded images missing their metadata, such as title, keywords and description. This information is already embedded in the uploaded file, yet sometimes, and quite randomly, I noticed that when uploaded that data is gone and I have to manually type it in.

This does not happen with every image, just some, so it must be a glitch in the system.

Hi DeepDesertPhoto,
Key words, description and title are something you should be adding once the photo is uploaded. But I will forward to the issue of missed embedding information to our tech team to review.

When the file is uploaded the metadata already in the file populates the fields automatically. The title, description and keywords are already present. It is when I click the publish button that the information disappears. It does not do it all the time. Most of the time the metadata stays after publishing and is fine, but once in a while it does not appear with the published image and I have to manually type the info into the fields.

That is what I don't like because I have already done it once before and I don't like repeating steps.

Hi - sorry about this and thanks for reporting. So the meta data is appearing on screen on the upload page and then is being removed after publish? Or is never making it to the upload screen? Also - if you reupload the same image does it happen again (i.e. is it image specific? or totally random?)

The metadata is always on the upload page before publishing. It sometimes disappears after publishing and the result is an "Uncategorized" image on the published page. I had to retype info into at least 7 images due to this issue.

It does not happen with every upload. It seems to be random, which is why I think it must be a glitch in the publish protocols.

I have not tried to delete and reupload the image. If this happens again I will try that and see what happens, but the point is this problem should not be occurring at all since the info is in place before I click Publish.

Yes - definitely should not be occurring at all!  I'm just trying to get as much detail as possible so we can narrow it down.  What browser and OS are you on?

I use Safari on a MacBook Pro with Lion (10.7.5 OSX) I do have Google Chrome, but I don't like using third party browsers unless it is absolutely necessary. I prefer to use the browser that came with my computer.

Jason, it just happened again. This time I deleted the image and re-uploaded. On the second time around the metadata was present after publish.

I also noticed that when the data was missing after the first publish it only used 4 credits instead of the standard 10.

When I uploaded the second time and published it used 10 credits and the data was there.

This means it has to be on your end because my browser would not affect how many credits are used during the publish protocol.
