Limit # of entries per category

I have noticed that certain people seem to be monopolizing most of the categories. Could we set a limit to the number of images an individual can post in each category, say 3 - 5 max. There are individuals who are submitting more than 12! shots per category per week - almost guaranteeing a high score by default. Limiting the # will mandate that they first choose the best of their shots to post and not dilute the pool with lesser quality images.

In general we want as as many images as possible on Pixoto - it should become the place people come to find the best images, and best photographers, of any subject. Each individual image is judged on it's own merits so if people put in a lot of bad images they will stay at the bottom (which actually increases the chances that other better images will win awards).

The point assignments for the Player Directory are actually designed to encourage photographers to submit LOTS of images. The logic behind this is that better photographers are capable of producing large quantities of award winning images - not just a few shots.

Does this make sense? Always interested in feedback...

I agree with Marianna to an extent. When one player submits a dozen shots of the same subject it gets a little repetitive. I've seen this in pets as well as women or brides categories. Same subject, same quality, different angles just gets repetitive. Not sure how you can regulate it though because I have submitted several photos to the same category but of completely different subjects. That was my first week and I have since tried to just submit what I feel are my best to several different categories. Good luck with this one =)
