The PRO beside some accounts does not mean professional, it means they have paid a fee so yhat they are guaranteed so many duels.....

Angelo is right. Part of the problem is experienced photographers posting under Novices Only to win awards.
One idea would be to disallow anyone with more than X number of awards or points from posting in the novices category.

It's a matter of properly defining the terms

The novice category gets taken away when anyone I think gains a award in another category other then the top 20% other then novice, am I wrong? or if they get a #1 in novice?

I think its top 5% in another category ? but it should have limitations in novices as well,

Some good photographers are sitting still because they are winning, they should move on and let less acomplished photographers have a go,

Pixoto needs to change the rules there !

Novice category is a good starting point.... if you win any award in Novice.. you should be out of there though.... but you know Angelo, if you have a good eye for taking photos, you can take a good photo with a cheap throw away camera..the equipment of course enhances a photo, no doubt..but I have taken a few good , spur of the moment photos with a lowly ipod camera, just know what the limitations of your equipment are..and stay within those limits and you will do fine.. don't try so hard to compete , as to simply take photos that you enjoy taking..you will learn a lot here, there are some wonderful photographers, I know in the 2 months I have been here, my photography has greatly improved...

Are you kidding? The good photographers should move on? Pretty sure pixoto wants good photographers. The site is supposed to give a honest evaluation of each photo in and of itself. I would suggest a site like soaphoto for you. There you can have great photo's that dont score well and crapy ones that do based on networking rather than image quality.

Patrick, I think "move on" meant "out of the Novice area", not "off the site completely".

Wow I got away for a little bit and there is so much support and chat hehehehe, thank you for the answer, well I know a good photo is a good photo, but is not the same to go to the moon and take a photo than taking a photo of the moon.
