Is voting being done fairly?

Does anyone else feel voting is maybe not being done fairly, especially in the children's category.
Don't get me wrong I know I'm not the worlds best photographer but take for example this photo
https://www.pixoto.com/images-photogr...
I was losing to images not even in focus.
Again I fully accept loosing to better images and there are some AMAZING ones but sometimes I find it a bit disheartening.
Or are my photos that bad? Lol

Same old same old.........nope - voting isn't fair, but Pixoto claim their algorithm works..... Hard to see how when according to Pixoto, the first few image duels are the ones that determine how the image will do and how many duels it will get - yet often great pictures have bombed by losing 5 duels in a row, however when resubmitted they win 5 duels in a row!

The voting is not totally fair sadly, even though Pixoto do try.

I agree, I have no problem what so ever with my photos losing to better photos, I know I am far from the best photographer in the world! Just seems sometimes my photos lose out to ones I wouldn't even keep, let alone submit to Pixoto!!!

I try not to judge others photos as bad, we all had to learn, but confess when voting today I saw a lot of what appeared to be a not great standard.

there have been some really bad photos getting into the top ten in babies & children lately, some that are completely out of focus, some that are just really bad quality and look like they were taken on a reaaalllyyy old camera phone. And some that are both out of focus & bad quality and have over-edited eyes to make the subject look like some kind of alien.. I have seen them getting to number 1.. i think the problem is people voting on mobile phones can't really see what they're voting on. And some people are just blind voting. It's a shame!

some (actually a lot) of the pics coming up in image duels lately are so bad I don't know why they are even being uploaded to a photo completion site in the first place, I swear when I first joined here a year or so ago the standard was higher?

although don't get me wrong there's still some really amazing photos coming on! just seems like a whole lot of rubbish as well & often the rubbish is beating the amazing stuff. i saw one of the most beautiful pics beaten by a bad quality alien-eyes pic the other day, makes me sad for the good photogs and looks bad for Pixoto!

FAIR?

You have got to be kidding!!

Fair doesn't enter into this game. And, it is a game!

Over half the images have technical faults like blown highlights, blocked shadows, titled horizons, and on and on.

So what!

This is not a juried competition; this is a dump for mainly what appear to be serious amateurs to less than serious amateurs.

I have sold a good number of images of time; yet, when I see some of the images that win of my images that have consistently sold - so what!

IT IS JUST A GAME!

Karli, Just keep playing YOUR game! and when an image doesn't do well re submit it as many times as needed. if you truly believe it is your best work! and it is good it will do well.
Good luck!

You have a problem? A soft out of focus image was beaten by an image in focus.

I would have voted that way too. There are too many soft OOF images being posted.

So you also would have voted for the second image?

Frankly, I don't like either one - this is being kind in comment; however, we are asked which one is better. So, yes, I would have chosen the tilted too red image over the OOF image. I have trouble looking at the first image for any length of time.
