Frank. It really doesn't make sense to put watermarks on a portfolio site. It kind of defeats the purpose. If you would like disable your site we can do that though. Let me know.

I like the site too, frankly I don't mind not having my watermark on there. That said, I think it would be nice to have the option. The point of a portfolio is to showcase your work, watermarks that don't ruin the image don't hurt your portfolio, but that is just one person's opinion. Also like another post, I was about to drop my pro account too and then this happened and now I will keep it. Thanks guys & gals and keep up the good work!

Great idea! I was considering dropping my Pro subscription. Think I'll keep it. This provides real added value.

Can you select, or put the "quality standard", for picture submitted to your sites, ..?

I see that pixoto team works hard.

  1. Why if I try to share my pixoto site on Facebook, I do not have any thumbnail?
  2. Can we reorder the pictures in galleries?
  3. Any easy-admin?

We have big problems with a spooky voting system.
(I do not recommend pixoto to my friends).

Hey Aurel -

- We'll be adding support for proper Facebook sharing shortly.
- Not at this time. We know folks want it and it will be coming at a later date.
- Again, not yet!

I'm not sure how our voting system is spooky but if you are referring to why your image could have lost a single imageduel to the other one - well that's why we don't judge an image on one duel...

I am not talking about my 'image', I am talking about more images (in both my blogs I post a lot more examples!). This was just one example of judging allowed to chance.
The photo on the right is entered in a wrong category (Definitely Not a Wedding Getting Ready picture, even is a good sunset landscape with two silhouettes). I reported it, but nothing happened. Than surprise: it win the duel helped by your voting system!
Ok, Jason, you have right. Is your system, it is not mine. keep it.

It can be "Full Screen HD Images" just because Pixoto has as rule 900 pixels!
The new "money per download" system and standards it is not applicable for almost 99% of database.

We have a rule that the minimum image size is 900 pixels. The vast majority of images on Pixoto are much larger than that. We are also adding a feature next week that will allow you to upload a high-res of an existing image.

Ok, this option will transform partial those non-HD (faraway from Full HD) sites into "Full Screen HD Images", just because:
1. - "HD site" means 1280x720 pixels fit in images;
2. - "Full HD" site means 1920x1080 pixels fit in images.
I hope that people will spend enough time to replace older pictures with new ones which will be fit for Full HD Screen site.
(I own two non HD sites, with blogs in its, and in this period I work to change its into Full-HD sites, and I know the volume of work to replace all my old images with their Full HD versions)

p.s. my originals images are till 32Mb RAW, and when I summit a picture to a X site I export them to right dimension (Ex: ISPWP ask for 900x720 fit in, WPJA ask for 864x864 fit in, etc.). Last year where I joined to Pixoto, I set up a 900x900 fit in export in my Aperture. I knew that many professional photographers use this simple way to resolve this simple problem.

Will you be adding marketing/printing services in a fashion similar to Smugmug?

Do you have any clients who have their site up and running yet? How will galleries be set? Number of images? Contact and other info? Ability to have music? Etc.

You can see one of our member's Pixoto Site at http://brin.pixoto.com/. We have a Contact form on each site that will allow a user to email you at your email address on file with your Pixoto account. No music at this time. The site will display up to 100 images. Galleries are created automagically based on the images you submitted to Pixoto and the categories they are in. You will be able to customize the images/order in a future release.

I hope that helps!

Can I ask, where is the protection for images.
I have just looked at brins site and I was able to just down load a 25mb file from it, whats to stop everyone doing that?.

Good point of view.
1. Most people know about the "stolen scream picture" from Flickr (who is curios can google it, admin of this thread are not allowed anymore possibility to add picture).
2. Do we have a balance of every picture an number of downloads?

p.s. For the moment I Do not submit picture more than 300Kb on Pixoto.
I am just wanting to be repaired this mistake.

Rory - I'm pretty sure none of the files that Brin has uploaded are anywhere close to 5mb. From what I see the maximum size of his images are 1600x1000. or about 1.5 megapixels. I'm not sure where you are getting a 25mb file from. That said - anything that is displayed on the screen (a maximum of 1920x1080 if the photographer provides images that size) can be copied using screen capture software. There simply isn't any way around it. Note that right click and click and drag are disabled.

The about page, how can i gain a clear SEM advantage with such a small text area. Can you not allow for a full page with photos.

SEM is so important as i will be using my own domain to promote my business. Also the meta tags cannot be read by google bots.

How is my site made SEO friendly, do you submit it to the webmaster?

I need my contact details displayed as the contact page tends to make nearly 30% of viewers look elsewhere for a photographer.

Is there the abiltiy to add text on every category? So that for weedings i can give some text on weddings and my services.

Can i ad text pages - Prices -

Is it possible to have the slide show option open as the viewer lands on the page?
