ImageDuel History enhancements

It would be nice to have a tooltip (info message) when hover on the photos from the ImageDuel list which displays the scores of these photos. I usually want to see their scores because it helps me to approximately estimate my future / final photo scoring / ranking.

Advantage: people don't waste their time clicking on the photos to see the image score; so they can use their time in other ways (to vote in the duels for example, spend this time to edit or upload new photos)

Disadvantage: the traffic of the photos and, implicitly, the traffic of the site may decrease consistently.

Bests,
Ovidiu

Why do we want to see the scores of the pictures we are voting on? Unless its to decide if the shot is above yours and to vote accordingly? .

Hi Ovidiu,

Interesting idea. You have definitely correctly identified possible advantages and disadvantages. We will take this into consideration.

Terry - the suggestion was not to provide ImageScore info during ImageDuel, but in the ImageDuel History section of the image detail page.

Thanks!

Go to any image detail page/overlay by clicking on the image and check the right side of the screen. You will see a section labeled ImageDuel History which shows the last 4 ImageDuel results for the image you are viewing.

Here's a suggestion: Provide the full history list of win/loss duels on the image's page rather than just the last four.

It would be very helpful to see more of what the voters are generally preferring by seeing more of which other images won over ours.

It would also indicate possible biased votes or random rapid-voting if a reasonably good image loses a duel to an obviously lesser quality one in very first duels (I have seen a few examples of this occuring with my images). Plus, we'd know better whether or not to un-pause an image if the image had been paused by the algorythim far too soon due to these types of votes early in the duels.

Also...
I've read in another post that one persons higher scoring images have usually been paused a few times in early duels before finally getting the vote percentages to keep it alive. This has happened to me too. If images get paused far too early, and people accept that based on the last four duels seen, some images may not be seen enough to reach their full potential score.

I always thought that it would be cool to see how many points you win/lose from an opposing photo. Since they vary...
