Image scoring query

I have just started delving into the scoring of my and others images, including the histories. Perhaps I shouldn't have because it appears to be less than consistent. I have read other posts about scoring and understand the premise behind scoring rates early on and then as the score builds.
But, without quoting specific examples (which is impractical because of the fluid nature of an image's score) I have noticed that images around my image (above and below) show inconsistencies. I am guessing that the order of the win/loss ratio has something to do with it, but I'm also guessing that the opposing images are obviously randomly selected, within certain parameters of course.
Okay, let's quote just one example. An image submitted today has scored 420 with a W/L ratio of 12/6 gained thus WWWWWWWLWLWWLWLLLW. Someone else's image has scored 435 with a 14/11 ratio gained thus WWWWWWLLWWLWWWLLL LLLWWWLL. I can see he 6 wins to start and I had 7. He also had 6 losses in a row - I had three in a row. My winning ratio is significantly better yet I am several images below with 15 less points. Methinks there is something not right.
Be glad to hear your explanation (although the very best way to appreciate your scoring system would be to sit down with you and receive an explanation in person).
Regards,
Howard Ferrier
PS I tried to add the image URL but it said only valid URL's are allowed??
PPS Sometimes it's better to remain blissfully ignorant.

Hello Howard, can you please look at this blog post:

Also image score decrease or increase depend on image score of another photo at the time of duel.

I hope this helps.
