Hi Ramy,

We are finding that some users are trying to game the system and we are being very proactive about studying the data to find the ways they are doing this. As we find them, we are working to normalize the results so they don't have impact. The good news is that we have identified many of the ways the "bad" users are doing this and are correcting the problems before the site grows too large and it becomes more difficult to do.

I apologize for the drop in ImageScore. 711 is where the ImageScore should have been to begin with. I expect these issues should subside pretty soon.

Thanks for your patience!

Me too Cassie! I thought we were supposed to vote as well as boost our photos. If not, why do they put the little boost icon on them? So confused!

Im a newbie - only a few weeks, and I started to realise my scores were going down. Why is this? I don't know anyone else on this site, so no one can be voting for my pics if they came up. There is mention of "some users are trying to game the system". What does this mean? I am a legitimate user, and if this is what happens I wont be around very long. I joined because I thought this was legitimate, now I find out its not. How do you boost someone elses photos? I didn't know you could?

Hi Justin,
I have the same problem. My picture http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra... in Landscapes - Last month had more than 700 ImageScore (about 714 or more), but now there is only 697 ImageScore. I dont know why. I'm not "bad" user and had not any bad activities.
I'm sorry for my bad english.
Greetings, Ruda

why are members / contributors not notified if their image is boosted by another member?
Some mebers may not want their image boosted. The reason im wanting notification is that one of my images scoring over 700 was boosted by another member and suddenly dropped ove 70 points (night train) it seemed to me that since it had achieved such a good score it was best left alone but when boosted had a systimatic vote against this image by a group of members talking to each other to get the image a lower score ....heaven forbid !!!!!!!!!!!! if this is what happened then its unfair and ought to be rectified. I know this opion is shared by other members and they came to the same conclusion as i did as we are friends out side the Pixoto comunity. We dont vote on each others images unless they ARE better than the competition they use the skip button. Notification of unsolicitated boosts might well discourage this anti image collaboration. un pausing does not seem to have the same effect and may be usefull as you could ask a friend to unpause your image if you cant be at your computor or do not have access to it for some time.

My top images get boosted all the time, it's beyond annoying. I can get up to 30 point drops overnight thanks to that. Well to play fair, just boost all those around you too, since it's guaranteed to be one of them, and let them all have a level playing field.

I have to agree that Pixoto should change the programming so that ONLY the owner of the photo can boost their image. How about it Jason? Maybe next release?

We have actually started work on this already, but haven't finished it up yet. I would expect it will be released soon; though, probably not with the next release which will likely be tomorrow. :-)

Please explain what you mean by "working the system" because I am new to Pixoto. If I'm working the system I surely don't know it. So very confused.

what used to happen was people would boost other peoples images
you cant do it now as you may have seen from earlier comments
if you boost an image when its over 600 points the bad votes go against you disproportionatly to the plus ponts ie if i prefer the other image the winner gets 2pts but the loser losses 5pts
effectivly he has now got to get 2 wins for every loss
at the beginning if he got a win he would recieve 45 points but only 15pts if he lost!
we thought it was hard enough getting to 650-700 without someone ruining the chance of you staying there!!

Appreciate any efforts being made to make voting and scoring more fair. Some people do way to well in voting not to be gaming the system in some way.
