Dear Jason !

Why I have been sent the below tagged mail to refrain from posting the Spotted Owl images, that too when the Pixoto members are liking and voting for it ! Can you
please explain ! In fact in one of the mail so badly written,it was like threatening me ! :-) I found it very strange !

Please do explain as to whether it is for all the members also where in I have seen almost very similar/close ups almost similar, images of : Frogs,Fox,Eagles every other day since I joined Pixoto so why refrain only Spotted Owl ? ;-)

Awaiting your response
S Balaji

Dear S Balaji

In order to keep the Pixoto site fresh and interesting we will sometimes ask that our members refrain from submitting certain types of images when we feel that too many work of a certain type have been submitted by a single individual. In your case we have found that you have plenty of the following type of work submitted and really don’t need any more to enhance your portfolio. We ask that you refrain from submitting this type of work in the future:

- owl images (in any pose, settings, type, or species)

like these (just few as example):

Thank your for your understanding.

Hello Sankaran,

even though we asked you to refrain from submitting owl images yesterday, you submitted 3 more today.
Please delete images you submitted today - if you don't delete them until November 19th (tomorrow), 10am GMT, we will have to delete them ourselves and your account will then be frozen for submission for a week.

Regards,

Jasenka Lukša Vujasić

I'm sorry for your frustration, but many of us wish they would crack down on ALL of the repeats and very similars. I wish they would start with all of those purple flowers though.

Thanks a lot Felicia !

Fair enough ! But the rule should be all right ! In fact on numerous occasions I have reported about similar images/repetitive images but no action was taken.

But the above mail which I received has no mention with regards to what you say,

She mailed me saying plainly ;

" We ask that you refrain from submitting this type of work in the future:
- owl images (in any pose, settings, type, or species)

The above sentence as mentioned by Jasenka has is no relevant to what you telling !

Please do correct me if i am wrong !

Anyways Life moves on,probably for good !

Thanks to all Pixoto members for your love, likes, and more
importantly your lovely comments

Bye
Thanks & Regards

Like Felicia said - there are a lot of us who are very happy to see that they are doing something about these repeats. I went to your page and I think I quickly counted 65 owls before it was broken up with other animals. And then there were more owls under that. The owls are so cute and very well photographed. I have voted for your pictures to win. But the sheer number with-just-enough-variation-that-it-can't-be-quite-considered-a-duplicate is extreme. Your explanations that 'everyone is doing it' and 'pixoto hasn't done anything about repeats in the past' arent valid. we don't know that they haven't targeted the purple flowers, too. And this seems like a new thing to address these kinds of duplicates in response to member feedback. You seem very nice and please know that I am not writing this to intentionally be mean to you but more to praise and thank pixoto for listening to the members' concerns.

Thanks a lot Kelley ! Nice of you to reply and really appreciate such a valuable concern coming from you and Felicia !

I had reported 3 very similar images,no action has been taken :-) May be you would get to see the changes

I am gone, and I don't need any Awards,I would have deleted the entire images of mine by myself but I guess I can't do it ! I would rather take this opportunity in asking Jasenka to do the need full in deleting all my awards/images etc on my behalf !

Let PIXOTO be very strict with repeats/Similar/or the same faces like my owls :-),

Let's hope your writings come true ! I am active on facebook !

Thanks & Best Regards
