Give all photo's 20 guaranteed duels to prevent game nobbling!

Could you please give all photo's 20 starter votes to prevent game nobbling?

Most of the time if you have a likely photo to reach the high points, it get's nobbled maybe a two or three times in the early game, so people resubmit it a few times until it rises properly and there's just a minor inconvenience. But in some games, the nobbling is sustained and malicious. I have a photo I submitted at 12 last night that I know is easily a 550 and probably better, because it's been up in the 500's fast and twice before I pulled it to submit a slightly better version that I'd tweaked. But when I submitted it to Architectural Details at 12am last night it was instantly nobbled and I couldn't get it to run. Eventually I just pulled the photo along with another 2 I'd submitted and at 4am and went to bed. 4 hours to try and start a photo off and failed? I'll not do that again. At the same time I saw this photo (http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra...) rise like it had a rocket under it's bum. I think it was 16 wins v 4 loses within an hour or two. I can't see the appeal but then again I'm not Indonesian or Jordanian or whatever.

This morning I thought to myself - I just can't play that game under that section. The nobbling is just too bad... and I can't afford a PRO account. But if you guaranteed that all photo's get 20 duels, or enough to see people clear of nobbling the game would be much more enjoyable.

So that's my idea for consideration. I hope you like it. :-)

Can you define nobbling for me?
I think I understand what you mean by if an image starts strong it tends to stay strong... I had an image that got only to 400 the first time, barely 500 the second, and the third try a week or so later it went over 600 within the first hour.
I still don't want to be a chronic re-submitter, but I do have images that I think need a second chance - possibly a third. (and I still get annoyed with particular images that just show up day after day after day after day after day).

I disagree to an extent with this, though I agree with the reason for suggesting it; if your picture is going to get nobbled, it is going to get nobbled.

From what I understand, the voting algorithm is affected by images you lose to, which means that if you lose to lower scored images, you will start to get ranked among the lower scored images.

Even with a guaranteed 20 duels, your image could be on a lower track if cynical voters have ruled against it when it is clearly the better image of the two.

The only fair option for me is to come up with a system where you can't vote in categories you have submitted images for that day. You could take this further with clever programming, and only present images in duels that aren't within n percentile of your image in daily or weekly competitions.

I like that idea too Michael. Whatever works.

This: http://www.pixoto.com/images-photogra...

- keeps losing to a multicoloured techno barn that was presumably used for raves before it was forgotten. And there's been some god awful overly contrasted shots too. Yea gods... but I love losing to great shots. When I'm not being occasionally appalled, then I'm frequently in awe at some of the work on pixoto. But I don't think I'm going to manage to get my shot qualified for the Architectural details competition this week, the ways things have been going.

what has your re submit experience been? I noticed that if an image does poorly and I strait resubmit- it continues to do poorly- like the old dual history is considered- where if I delete it and re submit- it does better.-

sometimes its a complete reversal of previous results (i.e. does good) or does badly in which case I wait a while and then resubmit and usually it does better.

I have had both happen, either go way up, or way down. Usually I just resubmit without deleting- that way I can compare if it's doing better or worse against similar quality images. If it doesn't do well, I often wait a few days before trying again.
