Excessive posting of entries

In the Animal category there is currently posting by an individual of over 20 image postings per day ( such as Stanley P.) As a result to counter this Dennis Bartsch has tried to counter this by posting more also as it is clear that the more you post in a category the more likely it is to rank in the top. We have all observed this over a lengthy period of time. As these individuals are now dominating the top #1-#10 and the top 5%, it is almost impossible to get to the top by posting 1-2 images per day. As a result many have left the animal category (and Pixoto) as the probability of ranking well with a few good photos is almost non-existent. Pixoto needs to decide whether it wishes to keep 2 or 3 photographers or have a proper competition. Posting in a category should be limited to 2-3 images per day.

Dear Jasenka

Thank you so much for your reply. I understand that you probably need to be brief as you have many queries to attend to. Please however let me know whether this is a problem that has raised its head many times. Have you looked at the different categories and are you aware of those that dominate certain categories by the sheer unreal submissions they are posting in only one category? How does Pixoto benefit from this? Is it not better to have more members that feel they can compete rather than a few that want to flood a category with their submissions? I have been a loyal paying member for a long time now and would really like some more feedback than a few words. Thank you Jasenka. Please let me know if anything is being done about this or whether Pixoto is currently happy with the current status. I would like to know what your view is. Many kind regards

Hi Claudia, I would like to express my thoughts on entering a lot of pictures in a category.

The more pictures that are entered in a category means that a few of those could rise to the top or not. But that's because people voted for the individual picture that they liked.
By entering many pictures in 1 category doesn't mean you will automatically have a winning picture in the group. It's still voted on by many different people thus the winning picture is a group decision.

Ok so what does it mean...
1. Analyze and learn from the winning pictures. Lighting, Composition, Subject, and Impact to name a few.
2. Experiment with your pictures. Try different ways to process your image.
3. Analyze your picture if it doesn't do well or does do well. This will give you an idea of what groups of people like in an image.
4. Don't be discouraged over an image that didn't do well the first time out. You may have to enter it a few times.
5. Enjoy taking photographs and sharing them with the world.
6. Enjoy your own images. The only person you really need to please is yourself.

I hope this helps.

Dave
