Duels not increasing

If the voting continues until Wednesday why are two of my pictures for the week ending Saturday not included. The number of duels has not increased in two days, nor the number of wins......others are overtaking me which is hardly suprising if my images are no longer included.

Terry - more votes will come in closer to the deadline... right now we have to get all the new images up to the same vote level as yours.

Does that mean that you freeze those posted earlier in the week?

Not frozen but just much less likely to get duels.

Terry - sorry if I'm not being clear. Let me see if an example will help. Let's say you submitted you image on Monday. It would start getting lots of votes right away because the system biases duels to unpaused images that don't have very many votes. By Wednesday it gets to a total of 150 duels and because most of the top images in the category also have 150 duels - your image will not be played as much. Instead all of the duels are focused on the new images in order to get them up to 150 as well. Then once all of the unpaused images are up to 150 duels or so your image will start playing again (against these newer images - as well as older ones). You can think of this a bit like a playoff. Your image achieves a standing then waits for other images to achieve a similar standing - and then gets played against those towards the end of the contest.

Let me know if this helps.

Best

Jason

This is very common. If you post an image on saturday you have very little competition in the current week (your image score is found by dueling against images from previous weeks). As new images come in for the week and do better than your images you will move down. It's a unique system - I know - but most of our members like to submit on saturday and sunday so that they can be on the leaderboard for longer....
