Wow! Drastic drop in the number of ImageDuels(tm) before awarding the daily prices! Normally in the Buildings & Architecture category the top ten pictures have about 45-50 ImageDuels (and scores between 600-700) when the daily rankings are determined. Today the top image had just 31 duels and a score of 576.

Over in Nudes & Boudoir my picture was in 7th place with just 13 Duels (9 wins, 4 losses). I can't see how it's possible to award prizes with that few Duels.

Thanks for reporting Matthew!  We think it's due to an abnormally large number of challenges being dueled right now and we're working on a solution.

I started noticing this right about when you introduced the 'Uncategorized' category.

Purely coincidence then.  Uncategorized images category actually increases the number of votes to categorized images.

Looks like it's definitely challenges.  We've pushed out some of the dates so they don't bulk up right now.  This should solve the issue - but it will take about 24 hours.

Jason, duels are still really slow. I've started to skip voting on challenges. I know it's a drop in the ocean, but it's a protest that makes me feel better.

Have you given thought to adding a button like the "Mature" button that allows users to ignore challenge duels? (default should be set to ignore challenge duels).

The challenges can be a nuisance, especially when every second dual is for a challenge. And do people really care about voting for them, I suspect many just click on one or skip.
I have said it before that there are too many challenges and that Pixoto should restrict the number each person can have running at any one time, two only, and the total number running should also be restricted.
Many are only started to get credits and the moderating standard on them is often poor.

For me this is a free service I use to gauge how I am doing as a photographer. Thank heavens I haven't paid a cent because Pixoto has been tinkering with its processes, formulas and such and as a result, it is now an unfair competition. I really don't have much to complain about but if I were a paying member, I would be fuming....

Should have left it alone Pixoto...

Hello Chrissie, sometimes images can get low (or even none) number of duels in certain time.-frame. Has the image been paused? If you can please post link to image we can check it.

The image was paused but I boosted it with 3 boosts - it still hasn't moved at all. I've only just looked since my last post and I find the other two images I posted yesterday evening for a challenge haven't moved either.

I've been using Pixoto for a few years now -- pretty extensively back then -- but dropped out for about a year and am only now reintroducing myself to it. What a difference!!!! It almost seems like it is just limping along with the duals. It appears that it makes no difference how good a photo is anymore; it is luck of the draw, or the time of day a photo is uploaded. Great photos getting stalled in the 400s....unheard of three or four years ago!! I'm not sure what to think to tell you the truth but, then again, I am not a paid member and have to lower my expectations. But yes, I too will be moving on unless I see some changes for the better.

I was very surprised when this image, with just 501 points, placed third in a challenge, beating many pictures with 600 and even 700+ points.
