Does Pixoto do any type of Press Release pertaining to the top photographers of the year?

I've heard from other photographers and think I read it somewhere that Pixoto does a press release of the top photographers of the year in each category. I was wondering if anyone knows when they do it and where it is posted...?

In the blog it says "We will publicize through a press-release, direct email, social media, a banner in the sidebar and through a dedicated section of the site accessible from the header." I would also like to know how, where and when Pixoto is going to inform the community about the top photographers 2014 in each category.

I have just "shared it on Facebook" and the quote shown is less like the winning banner or plaque we get here and more of a boastful big headed phrase

"Pixoto Ranks Ralph Harvey the Number 1 Photographer in the World for 2014 in there Category " !!

Cant we just have the gold plaque that is awarded and shown on our home page !
Less boastful but just as effective if not more like the "Bling" we are always told we have won ?

I wish when you shared it that the plaque would say what category instead of just leaving it kind of blank.

I agree with you, Ralph. I never liked the wording for awards won and shared on fb. What I have always done is left click on the award, which takes you to the image showing the award. If you copy and past the url on fb the photo and award will not show, just the url. Instead, I copy what it says under the award, then paste it on fb...as an example...an award from yesterday: "Pixoto Members voted John Larson’s image as #7 in the Animals category for the Day of 2/24/15." Then, still on the same page, I click on the photo and it takes me to the page displaying the photo, the award and all the comments. I copy and past that url to fb under the comment about my image being #7 and click post. The comment and image then appear and the result is a lot less boastful.

In terms of my yearly award I made a screen print of my home page showing my #2 ranking for the year in Animals and add a simple comment about Pixoto awarding John Larson #2 ranking in Animals category for 2014. It's a shame one has to go through all those machinations just so they don't appear so boastful when a simple change in the wording by Pixoto would solve this problem. I suggested this wording change when I first came to this site more than three years ago, but nothing was ever done about it.

Thank you...was wondering b/c I'm planning to do my own press release in several of my local area papers and I would love to be able to include whatever press release you are going to be doing, along with it.
