Each time you shift an image to what you consider "right" category the existing image score is deleted. This in not fair as the image got its score on its strength and appeal and not the category. The score should be retained .

I strongly disagree with you, it would be very unfair if the score was kept. The score wasn't earned by dueling against the images it should have been dueling with. What IS unfair is all the duels the other people had, duels against your image that never should have been in the category in the first place.

Some images have, as you say, strength and appeal -- but photographs at Pixoto don't duel site-wide, they only duel within their own categories. It would be the worst kind of cheating to try to earn a high score in a wrong category and then be allowed to keep those ill-gotten points. For duels to be fair to everyone, photographs have to be in the right category from the time they're submitted -- and start in that category the same as everyone else starts in the category, with a score of zero. That is what's fair.

There will always be some grey area as regards to which category an image would rightly belong. For example an abstract image created with driftwood and flowers could be either belong to abstract category or flower arrangement category . It is a matter of opinion, which will remain subjective . In such ambivalent cases one does not put his submission, as he interprets it , to gain unfair advantage under any particular category. Then, if the image has scored high points how do you say it is wholly fair to remove it to the other category removing all credit .

Hello Prasanta, I'm sorry but as Lenore explained when images start dueling in category after recategorization they should start dueling with same score as newly submitted image does.
