Proper way/method of report the image. It seem there is no correct channel for this, anyone can report the image and without asking/consulting to/with the owner image is deleted by Pixoto team. This needs change.

Pixoto requests that members report those images that they feel are in the wrong category. The Pixoto team then decides whether the image needs moving or not.
The owner is not consulted but does receive an e-mail if the image is moved, check your spam. If you are unhappy you can query the move..

I would just add to what Terry says by mentioning that if Pixoto deletes an image, it's just about always because it had a watermark on it or was a duplicate of an image the photographer previously uploaded. While a category change can be a matter of opinion that can be appealed here in this forum and possibly overturned, duplicates and watermarks are both rule violations and when spotted and reported, the images need to be deleted.

Am not against category change/move but deletion of pic directly from my account. Few Pictures which were deleted from my accounts were not duplicate from my end. If a pic of sunset is similar to sunset pic of some other user then will you delete it saying its duplicate? Sunset will remain same for many people. And atleast pixoto team should inform wat kind of watermark they found. Its quite possible that other user is duplicate who is reporting it.

Hello Sneha, your images were deleted because they had date-stamp on them.
According to our rules, which can be seen on this page: http://www.pixoto.com/photography-com...
watermarks and date-stamps are not allowed, and any photo with watermark or date-stamp will be deleted and user notified of action.

We rely on users to report images which don't obey our rules.

We only delete very similar images if they are both in same account, and deleting very similar images is different then deleting images for having watermark and/or date-stamp on it.

I hope this helps.

Also, when we remove images we will always send e-mail notification with reason why image was removed. Please check your e-mail connected to your Pixoto account (please check spam/junk mail too).

Yes, I got the mail but was unclear. As now you mentioned it was removed bcoz of datestamps so it makes sense. But can I ask one question. Any how in pic details you can see when the date stamps of pic when it was capture. Then why such constraint?

Sneha, when image is in voting, you can not see that information, and we do not allow watermarks and/or date-stamps because that can be feature that would make it different from other similar images submitted, so photographer can be identified by that feature, and we want dueling to be unbiased.
