My problem is that you have changed two of my photos. This is the second time that you have changed a photo of mine. These people are not professionals. They are just Volunteers to give their time to fight fires.

You have caused me to lose points on this photo. I am not happy about it. Who said that it is in the wrong category? You do not understand rural farming communities.

We don’t have the pleasure of having Fire Departments. These people are just farmers & other people who hold other jobs in our small town.

When the Fire Siren goes off they all come to give up their other jobs to help out the people of my community. Once again I want to know how you feel they are Professionals?

Jan, the problem is half the people here think that farmers are professionals.. because any one with a job to do is a professional.. it is a language problem.. We consider doctors, lawyers higher trained people are professionals... Indonesia and other places that rule this site do not have the same understanding of the language. A profession in their eyes is any job, so anything that looks like some one is working is classified as a professional. With out a link to your photo it is hard to say for sure, but if your subject is working, then they will reclassify, usually after you have scored well.

Yet again the same simple issue arises, should have consulted the guy who took the shot not the one who reported it or the one who acted on the report with out knowing what is actually going on !!!

Please change the way you keep cocking it up ! because there IS obviously an issue, .... it happens to often to be a fluke ?

It sounds me me that a photo was moved from some other category, to People. The sub-category of "professionals" is just a judgement call and can be changed at any time without penalty, so if the photo should be in People but not the "professionals" subcategory, that's easily changed.

So....the question remains: should the photo be in People, or not? It would really help if we could see the link to it. If People is the correct Category, that should be apparent.

I'm not saying people is wrong - I'm saying it isn't professionals in the photos. They are volunteers serving their country community. People (Street & Candid) Where it belongs.

HA HA HA....................... No they don.t ?........ but they Often Do just lately !

If it was a simple move from sub categories, Jason said before they don.t do that ! and that would be very unfair if all the points were wiped out in the same category.! any way you look at it it seems a but unfair ?

Ralph, Jasenka has said it was originally in the City category, with street scenes as the subcategory. I think that Pixoto was right in moving it from Cities to People.

Well for all of you commenting - I had it in people & sub category Street & Candid. Where it belongs. Not every person having a job should be considered a Professional. I am retired and stay at home. So, I am a retired Professional. These are the two photos in question.

Thank you for links Jan, I will ask for clarification, and reply when I get feedback. Looking at image duel history, both photos were originally submitted in City, Street and Park category, Street scenes subcategory.

Hello Jan, both photos are ok in People category, and since there was no hint in any of the photos that the people on photo were not professional they were put in Professional People subcategory. You can change subcategory at any time without loss of score, awards or duels.

Well the second one is not really People, the main subject is definitely not the back of the 1 firemen on the far side of the fire truck is it ?

But yes the first would probably be equally classed in people as much as street scene, after all it is a street scene of a crew dealing with a fire and again the firemen are all facing away from the camera.!

Yet anther case where the image fits more than one group but the only person not allowed to decide where it goes is the person who took the shot !

Even members who just pop in to make the odd comment, myself included, get more say on where the image should be than the person who took the shot !!!

Good to know that your personal opinion doesn't count for anything. This not making any comment toward you - just a general statement about this site itself. Guess I will not be posting on here for a while. I am not closing my account just have to be away from here for myself .
