My above linked image category was changed without my consent. This picture earned me over 500 points and after changing the category its back to zero. I lost all the points which is great disappointment.
If at all the category had to be changed it should've been within few days after submission not weeks later.
I am losing my motivation due to this. This injustice must be addressed to and resolved. Thanks

Further to my above stated post, I would like to mention that we as photographers are Artists and the greatest motivation for us are the praises that we receive for our work posted on Pixoto in terms of awards and points. Most of us don't get any monitory benefits, still these praises keeps us motivated. No one can have the right to snatch these back from us without consent. Its total injustice and regrettable act. Despite my very busy schedule, still I find time to participate in Pixoto activities out of same motivation. Please look into this issue seriously. I would request to return me my points and awards on the above mentioned picture. If the Pixoto administration cannot do it, I would like to withdraw my membership as I don't find any motivation to continue with Pixoto. Hope my voice would be heard sympathetically and humbly. Thanks

I've had it happen as well. I'm not sure where Nadeem had the photo listed before but I'm wagering that it was in flowers. So.... why couldn't it have stayed there? It could have gone into either category. I've had photos of forests be re-categorized to city parks simply because there was a pathway through the forest, even though there wasn't a city around for 20 kms. Pixoto needs to give photographers an opportunity to respond BEFORE it goes ahead and changes categories.

I couldn't agree more. Pixoto admin should take serious note of it and fix the issue by involving the member for consent before changing the category at their own.

Hello Nadeem, your image was originally in CIty, Street, and Park category.
As per our category description page: http://blog.pixoto.com/category-descr...

"City, Street & Park – Photos taken of cities and towns where the subject is the scene rather than the people. Subcategories: Skylines; Street scenes; Markets & Shops; City Parks; Historic Districts; Neighborhoods; Night; Amusement Parks; Fountains; Cemeteries; Vistas"

Since the subject of your photo is not a city scene image was recategorized to Animal category.

We rely on users to report images, so if the image was online for weeks in the incorrect category, that only means that nobody reported it until now.

My point is that the owner of the image must be taken on board before making the change in category unilaterally. It's unfair to take a unilateral decision. The same point was raised earlier as well by different members and I saw the official reply that from February onwards the system would be changed to take consent of the owner of the image before changing but it didn't happen. That's demoralizing

Nadeem, the system you read about is not implemented yet. It is planned, but it is not implemented yet.
