Can entrants to a community created challenge be disqualified once the challenge is running?

I'm just running my first challenge and the entries are wonderful, but one isn't on topic (although at first it seemed to be).

Yes you can disqualify it but there are huge issues with challenges as apparently people can't upload photos, monitors can't disqualify photos in challenges as an error reading occurs, etc. Large IT problems apparently.

I would imagine it's still possible - just click on the pic and try it :-)

It is possible. But it is always advisable to dq before the voting starts as once the voting starts, the non-conforming one will duel with qualified ones. The contest will loose its fairness. But better late than never! :-)

Personally speaking, I wouldn't do it -- if the voting has already started, then to me it messes it all up if an image is removed.

I check my challenges every day (or contests, as Pixoto has started calling them today) and yes, I do have to dq a few entries on occasion, but if something slips through, perhaps something entered just minutes before it closes and starts voting, then I just hope the voting process quickly sends that image to the bottom of the pack.

It sounds like you've changed your mind about the suitability of an image in your contest. If that's the case, and at first you thought it was acceptable, I think you should leave the image there. Just my two cents, though :-)
