I have a question about the image duels, I noticed that the image duels do not duel within the correct category. For instance, Food category, and the other duel is people...due to this I of course vote for the food, which is a disadvantage to the other photo. Same thing in nature, it says plants and flowers so there is a flower and against a waterscape... I vote for the flower due to it being in the correct category. I think this is the way some are getting a advantage. Image duels should be against the correct category, why would anyone vote for one in the wrong category? Can this be fixed?

We have had an issue with our report image functionality that prevented us from getting the notices. We are going through our back log of reported images as fast as we can.

Thanks for letting us know.

I wondered why so many reported images were allowed to stay in the wrong categories. I gave up reporting them to be honest and lost faith in the fairness of the system. I haven't posted much lately, but will do now the problem is being addressed.

Thanks for the update.

This issue still exists a year later. Duels should stay within categories. A macro shot of a spider shouldn't compete with a flower or elephant or sunset. This affect Pixoto's credibility as well as being unfair to the photos being compared.

Hello Doug, since the awards are given at the category level, every subcategory with in Animals must compete against one another to determine the ranking. This means that Lions will battle ladybugs and elephants will battle tree frogs. However, except for in the Novices and Instagram and Mobile Category a flower should not duel a animal unless the image is of an insect on a flower.

Instagram and Mobile and Novices Only are mixed categories where all subjects compete against one another.

Okay, that explains it. So I gather as an image gets more points it must compete farther afield to find images of comparable points?

thanks for the clarification.
